nsk I'm also quite excited about the Hunger Games! Trouble being that it costs so much for a babysitter, I'm always loath to get one for the cinema. Might have to sneak out and go on my own with my trusty clubcard points!
Another nsd of sorts. Didn't go to planned music group but to the aquarium so spent the money I would have spent at toddler group going to aquarium. Had fun and remembered why I do childminding!
No chocolate binges today - phew but picked up yet another cold so off to bed soon after the boys!
Going to free soft play tomorrow! What a fun life I lead!:rotfl:Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 6000 -
£300 all inclusive and I can have a cat?! If you don't take it NSK, I might!
NSD 15 for me, but oh dear me I'm about to give myself a medal for services to endless boring cupboard stew! I did have a lovely treat-filled day yesterday, with a NSD treatfest consisting of a free John Lewis hot chocolate and cake followed by a free bar of chocolate, but the lurch back into a cake-free reality is painful!
Ebay sales on Sunday all went through and have been posted, giving a total profit of just over £29, and now I finally have all old DDs shifted over I was able to move the balance from an old bank account - only £41 but that feels like a fortune these days!
It is absolutely freezing in this part of the woods today, so the heating has gone on for a couple of hours. Not very moneysaving, but quite frostbitepreventing!February: 5/15 NSD0 -
Wow, I'm very impressed with people that have the heating still off. Here it's close to 0C outside and the house cooles down to 13 so it's a must for an hour in the morning and about 5 hrs after work but only set to 19.
Confession time. Not bought anything unnecessary for weeks vut gave in and bought a bag of nuts for a pound and ruined an SFD. Dissapointed now. Hohum. Could still make it though.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -

Siouxsie... how are you going to raise £3110.66 ( to get you to £16,999) by the end of the year - do you have enough OT complete for £1500 per payday for the 31st November and the 31st December..? I know you can do it I just want to know how...(nosey mare)...
Ah yes, I forgot you like detailsI plan to leave the £1000 overdraft as it is until the 0% runs out so I only have to raise £2110.66 to get the loan below £17,000 - ha, did I just say only? I made a rough estimation of my November wage (had to guess the tax as my code has changed) and I should be able to squirrel an extra £1000, but since I like round even figures on my spreadsheet, I'll aim for £1110.66
That will just leave £1000 extra to pay from my December wage. No extra special plan, just continue to work lots and spend little. Christmas spends will hinder me a little and my laptop, I fear, may hinder me a lot! This one took almost two hours of going round in frustrating circles before I could get it up and running properly. I am undecided between 1. Taking it to a repair place to let someone have a look at it 2. Buying a cheap laptop (which in my experience isn't really very cheap!) or 3. Buying an all singing, all dancing MacBook Air which I've wanted for aaaaaaages! Today's fiasco resulted in me cancelling around £80 worth of work so I need to get something sorted quickly. For the next 5 days I can get 15% off the Macbook so it would cost around £800. Hmmm, shall think about my options....
Glad you got an Inspector Gadget trench coat with your voucher Kat. I did think of you when I read about Lily Allen's return to the music scene ... maybe she's doing it to raise money to keep the shop afloat since there are no immediate plans to close?
Still no spends here, although tomorrow I have to get some food in and buy a birthday card for my bestie. Only £10.61 left in my food budget though so I'll need to shop carefully!
A few ebay items sold over the weekend so my extra money made now stands at £71.12
Heating well and truly on chez Siouxsie - hot water bottle and fluffy socks are also on so I only have it on one bar but brrrr, it's cold outside!!
Off now to feed myself with what little is left in the kitchen - avocado and tomato or a banana and date smoothie?0 -
Evening all,

I took it quite well as he was completely mortified! And I shouldn't have let him take it outside without the cover ...
As for the Hunger Games - me too! I might go at the weekend by myself :-)'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -
Checking in for the day.

Hello all. Spendy day unfortunately today as OH had a bit of a meltdown this morning about the cheapo cling film I had bought so I got some better stuff for him. Apparently it would not cut and would not cling. As bad as it was it led to a good 'air clearing' conversation this evening when we had both calmed down about how economising does frustrate us at times, as well as his guilt about the debts, and about whether either of us thinks the other is getting more than the other or being unfair with money etc.. a positive discussion which led to us both admitting we feel frustrated at times, but that it is better to do hardcore savings for a year or two than carry on living an easy life but taking years to pay things back. So, despite a trying day I feel much better. And well worth the spends on quality cling film!
Regards the Christmas chat, we usually have a real tree, and put it up on my birthday which is the 17th Dec, this is a tradition from my parents from when I was a kid. I like to pretend the tree is for me! It also means that places like b&Q are selling the trees off really cheap by then too - the other year we got a beautiful 6ft tree for £10 from £65. Bargain. We'll be doing that again this year, but we just realised we left all our decorations in a bag in the loft of the house we moved out of in Jan! whoops! We'll have to go round and knock on and see if by any chance they are still there... Bit gutted, there were decorations I've had since I was a kid in there, as well as ones I have collected over the years...
anyway, focus on the positives - ultimately a good day.
Good luck with the house viewing NSK fingers crossed for you..
