OMG I am such a dunce! I have just signed up to be a mystery shopper and did a qualification task for one company and failed
I'm going to leave the tasks for the other companies until tomorrow when I don't have OH distracting me.
daisystar I do surveys too but usually only manage to do them on Friday night, during the weekend or in the holidays. The rest of the week is usually manic with planning and marking. Did you used to teach primary or secondary?LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Hi everyone,
Now on SFD 8, Done a shop on wed £18 spent, mostly on reduced stuff as it was getting priced down just as we got there, trying to made this last till wed again. Got a new boiler fitted yesterday, my old one was constantly breaking down, its such a novelty just now having hot water straight away instead of having to wait at least an hour for it to heat up, and we're looking forward to not being freezing this winter

No idea how you know people's birthdays but happy bday abundant!!
Today has been another lazy day so that is 7 spend-free days!!
:j
I am back to work for one shift tomorrow so that is another spend-free day due to my own laziness.
We made fajitas today (from scratch) and they were nice but need to be rolled out thinner as they tasted a bit doughy.
But that was using leftover chicken from our roast on friday night... and we have just made lasagne!! Another two for me for the freezer, two for my mum and three for OH (he uses all the veggie stuff in his).
OH was telling me about this thing where you price up the cost of your ingredients and compare it to see if it was worth making from scratch or if you would be cheaper buying it. So I am going to try that out at some point.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Abundant Happy Birthday to you!
SFD here, and a lovely one at that. We went to meet our newest family member - we pick her up next week so that will cost us a small donation to the cat rescue centre to cover adoption fees and vets fees as when we get her she will be all immunised and neutered and chipped ready for us. Very exciting. We have reasoned it as we will not be going out or going away for the next two years, so it's a worthwhile investment... she will make our home an even happier place to be for very little in cost.
I know what everyone means about that moment when you've had the realisation about debt, made plans and cracked on with tackling it, and then the resolve and 'high' of taking control wears off and you realise the actual impact on your life - day to day and in the longer term. The places you won't go now, the things you won't see now, the things you have to give up or forgo: the smallness of your world now- for me this means I see work, home, work, home. We are trying to find free things to do, and still have fun, but it is hard... some days more than others. But today was a good day, so I am hanging on to that!
Hope everyone else is doing ok out there tonight... hugs xLBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j

Had a great birthday party and cake went down very well - son was very pleased! Was absolutely exhausted after so I bought ready meals and wine from shops with some of the extra money DH has made this week. Will remove £10.95 from total of extra money made. Not sure I can really count it a nsd after all though. Hopeless at this not spending lark!
Got my mum coming down tomorrow so that should be nice and my sister is making us a roast dinner - yum!Oct grocery budget £368.40 / 6000 -
Morning Chickadees....
Currently 0200 in NSK and I am at work! I have read 4-5 pages of catch up and I feel like you all need a big hug!!! I know this debt busting is hard, I know it's depressing that your lives revolve around counting pennies and staying in but trust me - it's worth it!!! I know the journey is LOOONG for some of you but it will teach us all that if we really truly want something it's worth working for first and no more debt should cross out threshold. So hang in there.. keep pushing harder. Reaffirm every week why you are doing this - what do you want in your life that debt does not allow? Keep your eye on the prize!
In saying that I have to do the same when I am sat in a freexing office until 0700 wondering why I am not at my friends house in my pj's watching movies and eating vegan chocolate cake on a Saturday night instead.
Oh yes then I am back in again tomorrow..... and up early on Monday! Trust me I know how you all feel...
Stewby - hopefully your Dad will be able to work out a CC that is good for your current status. He seems savvy. However the Kos holiday - when is it, have you paid for it, and where will your spending money come from? Fesitvals are turning in a bit of a joke money wise - you need to consider waving bye bye to them until you are debt free. It's a no brainer to be honest but I know you know that....:)
MrsGSR - hug from me too.....
Abundant - Happy Birthday to YOU!!! However explain to me the comment about "out and about with friends and family so I might not make 25 SFD's"... why is this? Whats the occasion? Are these neccessary and are they budgetted for?... just curious you uinderstand...:rotfl:
Tiptoes - No excuses required for kitty recues....MEOW! However I am glad there isn't much expence cause then I would question the need for a 4th cat... but i want HUNDREDS MORE...:p
Fmess - Yes that's right you are a teacher - rather you then me honeybunch! Do you tutor during the summer months..?
Oh no.. I have read so many pages I can't remember who said what... So I am going to give you my new spendings....
Friday was veg top up day. My Tescimos local to work keeps getting new lines of foodage in and I am experimenting with different foods and tastes in order to keep my vegan self amused.
So I found spinach pasta, chipotle sauce, more tofu, vegan boullion powder, toasted sesame oil etc = £16.12
Then Lidls for vegetables like a bag lady with all my bits... = £10.74 and £4.48 on toiletries which yes takes me over my budget for toiletries but I shall add this to my food budget...
Oh and 89p in Sainsbobs for sugar to make a crumble that didn't crumble and a small loaf of yellow sticker bread @ 69p..
Total Spendings on Spend Day = £33.25 -:eek::eek:...Gonna be living on beans soon!
Right off to research some recipes.... See you all tomorrow after 1500....:T:T:T
Onwards and Upwards!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. A sleepy Good Morning to you all!
Another weekend shift, another day where I really didn't want to get out of bed. However, another spend free day, because the last thing I want to do after work is go shopping.
Yesterday, after reading some bits on here, and then researching on the site, I took the plunge and applied for a 0% Credit Card. Most of what I am paying on the dreaded Tescimo one is interest from the original balance transfer. I wasn't savvy enough about paying it before the 0% ran out, and didn't really have a hold on my finances.
So I now have 0% for 24 months, which, if I continue doing these challenges is more than enough time to get it paid off before the interest kicks in. Once it's cleared, the card will be locked away and it will be for complete emergencies only. It then means I can start using the Tescimos one as I originally intended, to pay for food shopping and petrol. I will make sure I pay it off each day I use it though. I want it for the points.
Foodwise, I am still doing well. Getting down to the last of my cheese, got enough left for a few meals. But I still have loads of other stuff that I can eat that doesn't need cheese, and as I am away this coming weekend, I think I can eeek out the shopping day until the Monday or Tuesday.
I am on the last of the fresh fruit today, but I'm rather partial to my canned peach slices, and I have enough to get me through work lunches for the week.
If I have the energy when I get home I am going to try and sort out my wardrobes a little more. I inherited two double ones when I bought my flat. The original intention was one would be for work clothes and one for normal clothes. It started well, until there was no space in one so stuff got shoved in the other. This afternoon I am going to re-organise and see what else can be decluttered. I also need to strip out all the empty hangers, they do my head in!
Oh well, back to work for a bit, seeing as they are paying me, lolFeb NST #4

Hello all!
Been MIA for the past few days, I only really check the forum out when I'm bored at work.
Nothing much to report really. Off to catch up with all your news now.0 -
HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE! If you're at work, may the time fly by; and if you're not, then may the time go slowly!
Have had a couple of nsds, bringing my total to 6, I think. It seems to be the easiest part of this challenge to focus on, as it happens every day and can't be ignored - thanks again NSK.:)
Today I'm thankful for:
> it's Remembrance Sunday. I always cry at the service, but am grateful that no-one I know has died in war.
> it's turned chilly - I love getting all wrapped up and going out to kick through the leaves
> my dh ( a no-brainer, really!!) but especially for all his hard work job-hunting
> two of my lovely work colleagues who I can laugh, moan and cry with
> Barkat multipurpose flour mix, as dd also likes the rolls I've made with this mix
Fmess, tutoring may be a good idea. There seem to be a couple of good agencies near me, just from a quick look online. May be worth a search? Or put up cards in your local newsagents? This is something I may do in the New Year if the hint of maybe, possible, perhaps working extra days for 2 terms doesn't materialise...
The sun is shining here - time to go and enjoy it! Hope you all have a great day.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Morning all...
So i clocked up SFD number 5 yesterday!
Thanks for the birthday wishesI had a good one!
Kat <looks scared> well... it's like this... I have already had 4 Spend Days what with my birthday and buying things for my 2 week vacation... Whilst I'm here I need to catch up with friends and family, and can't expect them to pay for everything. Where I can I will visit them at home <free coffee ha ha> but will go out from time to time... Haven't been able to plan ahead too much until I got here... I have spending money and birthday money... If i can just live off my usual budget this month I'll be chuffed.
Should be SFD number 6 today as visiting family at home.
