:j Hello!!!!!
I'm up for another SFD today and also I have bought in and just devoured my lunch. Hoorah!!!
I have been reading all about a girl called Jack. I didn't know but she is local to me. I can't wait for her recipe book to come out and will definitely be asking for that as a present at some point in the future.
I have had to pay some business parking today, but as I claim that straight back I am not putting it down as spending. However, I haven't had to break into my diesel allowance this week so I'm hoping to eek out what's left in the tank and then can put that £20 towards paying of my FD credit card.
I'm proud of my OH last night as I was late in so he started cooking dinner. I had got some chicken breasts out of the freezer and was hoping to make them last for two meals. He however said that there was only enough to last last nights meal. Later on though, he said that he had saved some chicken for tonight and we could add more veggies to tonight's pasta. I know it's only a small thing but it meant the world to me.
Hubbie then surpassed himself by saving the empty ice cream tub for me to use when I'm batch cooking! So proud!
I have been invited out for dinner and drinks on Thursday, I really want to see my friends, but I desperately don't want to spend on an allocated SFD. Will need to think of a good excuse to not go.
Keep going everyone! We are all doing so well.:TOctober make £10/day currently £11.020 -
Couldn't find any of DS's scarfs or gloves (washed them after the cat peed on them, and put them away too well). But to save a SFD I started crocheting him a scarf yesterday to have ready for tonight's fire works display as it is rather cold up here. Just finishing it off in every spare minute I have at work :shhh:DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

*Nom* (Sorry. I nicked a bit)
NSK - Gah, I can feel your frustration! What a pickle! Hope finding a new pad for Feb is not too much of a mission!
SFD Number 4 today. Just been working...not sure if I'll make the fireworks tonight as OH gets in so late... Although, possibly a good thing as my neck is killing me! It's been hurting since yesterday morning, I woke up and it was angry! It does make driving quite interesting, as I have to turn my whole upper body to look left! I Have been sporting a lovely wooly scarf wherever I go, so I do not look too out of place in this current climate! Unfortunately, I do not own a microwave or a wheat bag so my scarf will have to suffice.:coffee:

Hello CVRS... We are closed to more people this month. But please lurk and watch as things develope. I will be creating another one for December don't you worry!..:-)“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0

Well I'm afraid I had a spendy day...on me for a change. I had my Tesco vouchers through and hubby insisted I buy some new clothes (desperately needed). I had £29.50 in Tesco vouchers so I doubled up £25 worth so I had £50 worth + £4.50 voucher left. They also had £5 off clothing vouchers at the store so picked up two and did two separate transactions. So I had £67 worth of clothes and only paid £2.50 for my clothes. Feel well chuffed and now have some jumpers and new underwear for the winter now. My Mum also came with me brought me a new coat and a top for my birthday.
I also brought some gluten free chicken nuggets and frozen chips for tea tonight as I had my mum with me for the rest of the afternoon and knew I wouldn't have time to cook anything from scratch tonight, so that was an extra £4.65 making grand total of £7.13 spend today. Will be a NSD hopefully tomorrow.0 -
Hiya
Kat - poor you, it is such a pain moving house so you have my sympathies. Hope you find somewhere cheap and lovely.
I am declaring SFD no 4!!
I didn't go to the supermarket after all as I was late coming out of work and didn't get chance. Don't fancy going out again in the cold and rain so not going this evening. We are not going in search of fireworks as it is tipping it down here. Also not even sure that they are on as no sign outside the pub or on their website or facebook page (I know I should pick up the phone but given the weather..).
Hubby called to get milk.. anyway, no spends for me
Breakfast was cereal today as is usual for a work/school day.
Lunch for me was cup a soup, ryvitas and dairy lea and pickle and with satsumas and a cereal bar for snack.
Mystery meal from the freezer turned out to be a pasta sauce which I bulked out with mushrooms and half a tin of tomatoes for tea. It had a hint of chilli - very nice! Can't remember making it so it has been there a while! I didn't quite have enough pasta for 3 so I chopped up some broccoli and threw it in with the pasta as it takes about the same time to cook. Then stirred it all together
Tomorrow will be a gravy dinner, sausage, mash, sprouts and
cabbage. Will probably have same lunch as today.'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain'0 -

Oooooooh! I'm getting excited already!:j:j:j
Kat, you have inspired me so much! Can't do much to reduce my mortgage at the mo, til dh can find work, but being able to control my own money and use the minimum of his redundancy money is so empowering! I love the different challenges and aspirations you set for us. Don't know what we'll do once you've paid off your debts...NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Yesterday was a spendy day as I had to pick up essentials (bought with Nectar points!) and do a Tesco online shop, but I now I enough tinned beans and tomatoes to feed endless slow cooker mixture stew to an army!
Today was SFD 4/25. Have been working from home all day and it has been freezing, so I've finally given in and put the fire on for a bit. Fireworks night tonight but I've saved on the £6.50 ticket to the city display by living opposite the stadium and having a brilliant view of it! The downside is listening to the endless soundchecks...!
Question - when you do a shop and pay for it with loyalty points, do you count that as a spend? In my spreadsheet I'm not counting it against my grocery budget but have noted the amount spent because it's my first month of trying to figure this out and I need to know exactly what my food would cost in a normal month. What do people on this thread do? Count it as a spend or not?
Good luck applemuncher! While the thread is closed there's nothing to stop you implementing some of the strategies! Maybe start a diary in that forum? Having somewhere you feel "accountable" to, and feeling like you're not entirely on your own, has been really helpful for me. Good luck!February: 5/15 NSD0
