Spendy day yesterday, but I did manage to avoid eating out. I baked some homemade bread, made a stir fry, and a stew. I did not remember to donate the clothing, but it is now folded up in BHF bags ready to go. I bought the food for the food bank, but haven't yet delivered it.
I also cashed out AppTrailers and set up a meeting where I'm giving away the craft box I had on freecycle. So progress has been made if slowly, planning to post another listing or two on freecycle tonight, but lack of a computer makes it tricky, so might have to do it at the library.
Lunch today will be homemade bread with homemade jam and strawberry jelly. The stew will be frozen for later and tea will be stir fry, but with a different sauce and noodles. Planning to go out tonight, but I think it's free, unless my housemate has forgotten to tell me, so will have to keep some cash on hand.0 -
Oh well, learning lessons at least! Hopefully Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be nsd.
This is what I like to hear. But remember you can freeze milk incase you want to buy a stash!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Good luck with flat hunt Kat, would offer you a room in Wales, but a dog a bunny and a Cat could be trouble hehe. Everything happens for a reason think positive could work out well.

Hello all
Managed my SFD yesterday, I did need a few bits of shopping but the only non-YS stuff was stuff I had a free voucher for (brown rice and Coke Zero) so didn't damage my SFDs. So I have 2/25 and should get number 3 today fingers crossed.
Feeling really depressed today - had a big toddler tantrum to deal with this morning and it really brought to light how little time I have in the day that's just for me. We had a party at the weekend as well and I spent all morning chucking the clutter into our bedroom, I was embarrassed that someone would nosily poke their head round our bedroom door and see the state of it. Need some time to get the house decluttered but it's hard to deal with with a 2 year old under my feet and an uncooperative OH.
Wishing I could have half a day a week to sort this kind of thing out but we can't afford for me to drop my hours any more, and nursery are about to put their fees up so can't afford any extra time for DS to go in. Gah.
Anyway. My things for today - need to take clothes back to Pr1mark at lunchtime and pick up some more Uncle Ben's rice while the voucher is still valid. Planned dinner tonight to use what we have in (brown rice, avocado, cherry tomato and coriander salad with houmous and carrot sticks).

SFDs - 1/25
Groceries - £104/ 240
Lunch to work - 3/21
Declutter - 10/20 items
Earn - £0.35/80
Toiletries - £3/£10
Social - 1/3
Xmas - £18/£150
CC £0/£200
I actually got a few YS bargains at the C0-0p last night, usually they only knock a few pence off things but but a loaf for 40p, 4 rolls for 27p, spring onions for 27p and some tex-mex dips for 50p. Ok, I didn't really need the dips but going to use them tonight to add some sparkle as we're having chicken fajita and wedges.
No need to buy any food now for a week now at least apart from maybe milk - the freezer is bursting, the cat drawer is full, and the store cupboard has barely any room in it. I'm hoping for 5 SFDs in a row:D0 -
Today has ended up as a spend day - my son has to take goodies in for a bake sale on Thursday, so I took advantage of being near ald* to get some baking stuff in.
They are selling the cakes to raise money for a charity the school supports, so at least I have sacrificed a SFD for a good cause.Trying to keep in budget.

Forgot to add - just turned down a Santa and Snow day at Chill Factor in Manchester - because we're already doing two other Santa/Christmas days with the same group of friends and this would have been £21 plus food and drinks! Feeling happy with my self control but sad that we'll miss out.My debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

Can you not send out OH on some activity with DS on the weekend. Like send them to the play park for an hour or to the in-laws. My OH will take DS (2.5) away for Sat and Sun to see grandpa. He does that maybe once every two months or so to give me some time as he gets more me time (lie ins, football, pub).I work full time and then have all the household chores as OH works a bit longer and I end up doing most (well all) of it. So I know what you mean.May get some wine for beef stew on way home thou unless anyone any ideas on here how to make it taste wicked without it. Haven't got any beer in either?
I do mine without unless I cook to entertain. I just use loads of herbs etc. Found this link which might be useful.
Today will be NSD 4. Just had instant porridge for my lunch and loads of snacky things in my bag as I cooked enough pasta bolognese last night but OH scoffed it all.
Will have a slightly fancy dinner tonight. Aldi mussels for starters and then chicken legs in a creamy garlic and mushroom sauce (will too look for white wine substitute)
