My OH will take DS (2.5) away for Sat and Sun to see grandpa. He does that maybe once every two months or so to give me some time as he gets more me time (lie ins, football, pub).I work full time and then have all the household chores as OH works a bit longer and I end up doing most (well all) of it. So I know what you mean.
That's my plan this weekend. Well, I'm going to take DS out Saturday morning, meet OH for carvery lunch then go home and do my bit of the tidying while DS hopefully naps xMy debt free diary | Post Office loan: £2131 1429.38 | Barclaycard: £4429 1988.12 | Paypal Credit £322.71 574.91 | Monzo Flex £169.03 |

A couple of teaspoons of marmite, if you have it, will add some beefy flavour, or worchestershire sauce will add some zing to a casserole.0 -
I'm in a similar situation to you lilian1977 My youngest is 22 months but he doesn't go to nursery anywhere yet as I work nights. I would love to have at least a morning a week to clean the house and just catch up a bit!
So pleased today as when I went to get my foodbank items and some bananas and saw a few reduced muffins and crumpets, they were 39p each but as they were on offer anyway they had 60p off so both cost me 18p:money:
On the downside the plumber is here and although these are little jobs they are going to cost about £100  still I guess that saves us money in the long run as we aren't wasting water.Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Just wanted to say that I admire you all, been reading this thread avidly. Desperately want to join one of these monthly challenges but in reality I need to wait until Christmas is out of the way before I start.
Keep on at it - you're all doing great!!Determined to save and not squander!

Woo goo finally caught up. Loving all the chat.
Calling14 I use oyster sauce if there's any in the cupboard for stew also use brown sauce in mince so I think it would be good in stew.
Bit of a damp day here started off lovely &bright & crisp (DD thought the frosty grass was snow!) but now a bit rainy not good for fireworks tonight:(.
Planned trip slightly shortened as DD not well enough for meal out will go on Sat instead when I do the big shop. So it'll be just the money for the funfair. Going with friend who's offered to buy the glow stick things as we got them last year. :T
Off to vacuum the car & see if there's anything lurking in my wardrobe to give to charity. I'm thinking if I can't remember the last time I actually wore a work blouse I don't need it hanging in the wardrobe!
Think today I'll be SFD as it's our planned outing, so it's 3 in a row :T

Not much to report here: 4 NSD under my belt, and hoping Wed/Thu will be too. Keep going everyone, we're doing great!

Turns out vacuuming the car in the rain isn't such a great idea. Why is it that you only remember about child locks just as the door closes & that you've then got scramble over the vac and make the most ungainly exit from a car known to man? Either that or put vac in a puddle or try to squeeze through a tiny gap as the 3rd seat in the front is up cos I'm cleaning! What an eejit!
Sorry felt a bit cross at my own stupidity but at least I didn't use the one at the petrol station (you'd be as well sooking the power our local one has)

AMAZING!!! Well done!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0
