Question - when you do a shop and pay for it with loyalty points, do you count that as a spend?
No. If no hard cash was parted with this is an SFD for you! :T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. When you do the shift. You have given your time and earned the money if it was up to you it would be cash in hard but as you don't control that please count the money made as the day you did the shift! :T“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Morning all, I'm probably going to have to spend today. Both of my sons have eczema and the only things that keep it at bay is centraben for one and dead sea softening lotion for the other, so at least £20.00 today! But not a bean more should be spent for the rest of the week hopefully! Keep up the good work everyone!

MORNING!!!
MASSIVE spider just made someone in our office shriek. A boy came to the rescue!! Phew!!
I went to the movies last night ( don't worry I pay monthly for the Cineworld card in order to stop myself going mental ) and saw Philomena! Made me sad. Recommended to wait for Dvd though - no special effects that benefit from the big screen. Next stop - The Hunger Games - a particular fave!
So I am going to confess. As much as I hate to admit it this house move has motivated me more than ever to get "my affairs in order" to leave this country. I have had to reapply for my drivers license photocard with a renewed photo - this cost me a £20 postal order and a £2.50 charge to boot. Bas***ds! Once returned this will be my form of ID for my Australian Citizenship Certificate which will apparently take ( once processed ) only 7 days to return to me from Oz. From there it's the rigmarole of getting the actually Australian Passport AND my British Passport and the cost of seperate photos as the Oz ones are a different sizing. Phew.
So £22.50 spent and an SFD wasted to a certain degree. But I might not need to shop this Friday - which is just as well cause my food budget is getting too low for only being in week Number 1.
EyesWideOpen - I have never had to "pass" any tests in order to find a house. I have heard of this practise though which is really difficult. I do know what you mean about behaving a certain way when trying to find a house and the fact you can't switch on your personality etc... Perhaps I am very sceptical now of a LandLord's claims as to what they offer and have never actually approached a stranger to move in with them - always rented with a friend or directly from a LL on my own. I tend to advertise within work though which makes things easier and rental prices lower.
Someone said thay have to "keep their pecker up" - I love this saying. proper old skool War Time speak. Yes I think we all need to keep our peckers up! :T:T:T... Ahhh I was born in a wrong era I think. I love the austerity age of old... but I digress.....
Lilyanna I am intrigued as to what you do for a living. I think I might be able to guess by the language you use but I shan't put it up here...:)
Stewby - in what ways were you lazy? And what did you spoil the SFD for...? I bet it was food?:D
CrazyCatLady - that is a cupboard to be proud of. I hereby declare you are allowed to food shop...:rotfl:
CottageRetreatist - ohhh you are organising your debts for the end of the year? How..? I emailed my bank last night as I want a complete settlement figure for the end of the year to ensure I don't see any surprises in January - fun isn't it!!! :j
Fmess I am loving the money earned - almost balances the money spent!..:p
Right so since I am moving I am going to do a "vintage item" overhaul and figure out what I am going to keep and what is going to be given away or sold. I have collected teacups over the years from various areas of the country and I really don't want to sell them. Someday my imaginary daughter will have them.... but I have also thought about renting the item to people wanting to hold a tea party ... I think I will post some pictures on my personal thread soon and ask your opinions if that's ok... This also means organising them into a container / tub that is strong and protective and not the crappy cardboard box they are in at the moment.... did I mention I have a 12 cups glass punch bowl with ladle.... :rotfl:
Anyway... another downsize is on the cards....:(
More from me later ..........apparently I need to work..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Argh! DH came home with muffins and crumpets too! Why can't he behave himself and only buy what I tell him? Seriously banging my head against a brick wall here.

Did I mention that I was sleepy last night??
It was meant to be spendFREE days. Mainly because I am too lazy after work to change into anything other than pyjamas so didn't go near the shops.
NSK you need to stay for at least another year!! You have to help me get debtfree. That's your job.
In all seriousness though, I hope you get the housing situation all sorted out. I don't think I would cope continually moving, I kinda like to have roots. I wish you the best of luck.
Hugs.
Woooooooo!! in the newsletter. Well done kat!!

Good morning,
day 6 and SFD number 5, woohoo. Went to the fireworks last night and DS wore his crocheted scarf however OH bought him some gloves on the way as I couldn't find them either. But OH isn't on the challenge so still an SFD for me.
Instant porridge for my lunch again as we ate all the dinner again. However, OH will go to watch the game tonight so I'll spend some time painting the kitchen cabinets (yep still going, takes ages) and cook some strange concoctions for work lunches depending on what I find. Food should last till the weekend and since OH will take DS away Sat and Sun to see grandpa, I should be able to have SFDs till I need to go shopping on Sun. But then I will also need to get some new jeans (prob Tesco) as this baby and the cycling have made my bum and thighs grow more than anticipated.
Only 5 weeks left before I'm off for christmas (going home to see the parents in Germany on the 12th for a week and then back for christmas here), so I better get organised for that a bit more soon too.

Quick update. No plans to spend today.
Have decided what I'm buying my secret santa for work. Found an idea for a "pub in a box" on the christmas mse forum - beer, glass, nibbles etc. something the guy will actually like and devour. I hate secret santa pressies that have a novelty value but are essentially useless. Last year I got straws with plastic moustaches on them!0 -
So today I'm trying to convince my OH that we don't need to spend a fortune on Christmas presents to each other this year. I want to cap the spending to £40, but I'm not sure he is convinced..... My family are great as we do secret santa and have a £30 limit on that gift. I would love for OH to be a money savvy as I am....It's taken him over a year to sort through his papers with the aim to reclaim some PPI.
Any tips on how I can get OH on board more, or should I let him spend what he likes and just cap my spending to £40.
Thoughts please lovely DFW's!!!:DOctober make £10/day currently £11.020
