  • Evening all....

I have yet to read all the posts and shall apologise now that this is such a short post this evening. The weeks proceedings have go the better of me and I need to snooze...

Got home from work today, dropped my bag and got straight back on the train for a Hey-Diddle-Lidl's run (£22.40), got the bags home then went back out for a bigger Tescimo run...(£36.13).. I was so determined to do this all in one day it took me two hours as I had to get a train home with one set of shopping that was too heavy...

Total for the day...£67.83. Everything ran out at once so most of the stuff bought will last through the month but the initial expenditure is so HIGH... although the spends include £10 beauty in one hit. All that ran out as well so I stocked up on hair-spray, soap x 4, shampoo and conditioner, and deodorant although come to think of it that is only £8.78....

So I have enough beans, (still eating millet), and accoutrements to see me through 7 SFD's I think, vegetables coming out of my ears and enough bananas for each of you (kidding).. and I will be baking on Sunday to make snacks...

What a thrill I am. Only talking about food....

So I am going to sleep now and wonder where all that money went....

Will answer questions if there are any tomorrow...

Onwards and Upwards Chickadees - tomorrow is another day!!!

Heeheehee. Had to let you know (cause I am still giggling).

My OH made a silly mistake about three minutes ago (he is still playing fifa 13, reviews on fifa 14 are rubbish so we are sticking with what we have. hooray!!). Basically, he said "I bet you £20 talks breakdown between the club and this guy". I realised his mistake and quickly accepted whilst explaining to him his mistake.

The result: He is putting £20 in our "holiday" pot!!

  • Yeay - it's so exciting reading all the chatter on here, it's only day one and there's so much to get through! I think we are all up for the challenge and all up for supporting each other through it...

NSK I can't believe how close you are to being DF. How inspiring! I also can't believe you are still eating millet! Loving the poem.

Today was sadly a spendy day as it was curry and drinks post work. I am usually a mardy loner when it comes to work socialising, but I have made a (impeccably badly timed) resolution to be less introverted and build some team support, so I felt bound to go. We had budgeted £25 for this, but I spent £19 and got free parking, so I feel ok about it. I had hoped to get the weekly shopping in today too so as minimise spend days, but time ran away with me. I will have to do it tomorrow, but that means 2 out of the possible 5 spend days for the month gone - in the first 2 days! Double eek!

We hope to have the second out of 6 credit cards paid off by the end of the year, which requires very tight budgets and low spends, so I am very committed to the challenge. To be honest we would be gutted if we fail on having this paid off. So I will do it - come on!!

Touching base on Day 1 to report a failed SFD despite good intentions! Am annoyed with myself because not only was I magnetically pulled into a coffee shop which is off limits in this months challenge but I had an uncontrollable urge to splash out on a rather lovely chocolate mocha and have wasted a valuable spend day

Since the damage was done, I made the most of my spending and bought bread making ingredients for tomorrows planned first attempt at bread making! Hope that will be more successful than my previous 'how to turn a rice pudding into a flapjack' trick!

Tomorrow night's fireworks night and meal all budgeted for in advance so tomorrow WILL be a Spend Free Day! :D

  • Just spent the last hour catching up - v impressed with everyone.

Today's not exactly gone to plan as had run out of so many things I had to jump into hey diddle lidl to get what ended up a big shop (although forgot cucumber, oats & they don't do cat food out fussy cat likes) so tomorrow will be spendy too. Did plan to jump out when DH got in from his late shift but it's just too late to be wandering around Asda at this time on a Fri night!

Lunch was taken to work so that's one tick today at least.

I need to update my sig, will do tomorrow when less tired.

Toiletries 0/10 will need hair dye
Donation 0/6 missed last month due to illness
Misc 0/25 put by for things like window cleaner which ruined a SFD last month & I need jeans taken up as they are languishing in wardrobe as I need to be wearing stilts to stop them from dragging

    Lunch 1/9
    De clutter 0/20
    Make money 0/80

Think that's it. Hope everyone has a good weekend, usual Sat running about tomorrow with dance class, football playing & DS football watching. Think DD and I will do some batch cooking/baking while he's at the game and DH at work. Sun should be SFD hopefully go swimming as haven't been as family in ages as everyone's been a bit snottery!

    Hi everybody,

Here I am reporting in with my first day of the challenge. I did a supermarket shop with a very short list, and only ended up putting one extra item in the trolley. I was very tempted to buy some reduced Halloween candy but remained strong and walked away :T

  • Earned my first £10 towards the £80 target, doing mystery shopping.
Yesterday was a NSD but I think I'm going to do the big shop today. I've checked every cupboard, the pantry and fridge freezer to see what's in and made a list of meals and what I need to buy.
I'll be getting the cat food for the month and everything else that I can apart from the fresh milk, veg and fruit.
Today is also the day to sort out the charity shop stuff. I've loads of baby stuff my Grandson has outgrown, so that can go to my local Barnardo's.
Very excited by this challenge and being more vigilant where I overspent on last months budget.

Morning all, just realised today is going to be another SFD as I promised I'd take my car to a charity car wash. So think it's £5 per car (cleaned inside and out) which is very good value and it's for charity, do I can't really grumble at losing a SFD. That means I only have 3 more to use :(
    LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)
New roof and car £8557/£19003 New kitchen £396/£5039 Credit card Paid Student loan Paid
