    Morning all,

two NSD's here :D Yesterday I spent nothing and today I bought my youngest a Christmas present from last months miscellaneous fund, so nothing from this months budget :T

Mon1o-from what I understand, if the spend is already allocated funds, then it does not count :)

Good luck everyone and keep up the good work :T

    Hi,

Well yesterday was my first SFD :j

I did do some internet xmas shopping at Debenhams which was budgeted for. M wants some Hex bugs and there were a couple of other things in the sale (Cluedo and Rivets). H found a 20% off toys code and if you spent £50 you get a £10 voucher so I got the lot for £50.88 and will use the £10 voucher when it comes to buy another xmas gift in store :T

Today I am hoping will be counted as a SFD too. While I do have spends to make, they are all in the budget. I am off to visit mum this afternoon so no cost there. We have just had pasta for lunch with sauce from the freezer (reduced) bulked out with a chopped mushroom and 2 quorn fillets chopped into chunks. Yum! We are making a big effort to eat from the freezer this month.

I have £20 max for the fair tonight (though hoping hubby will chip in if he joins us). We are going at tea time after it goes dark and hoping to be back for Strictly at 6.30pm. We are having a 'picnic tea' while we watch telly which is becoming a bit of a weekly event so will not be buying any food at the fair except maybe candyfloss for the boy if he wants some. For picnic tea this week we are having bread, breadsticks, cream cheese, cucumber and tomatoes the few remaining olives and some salsa dip and chips. To bulk it out and add something warm I might do a pk of cheap savoury rice with it to share or some boiled potatoes.

I order 2 loaves and a paper each saturday so as long as I don't buy anything else I just add the total spend on to my shopping bill when I go. I am not counting this as a spend as it would mean I feel obliged to do the weekly shop on Saturday too when it is busy and I don't really need to go!

Tomorrow, M has a soft play party at 11.30am so will get a free lunch. I have budgeted for a coffee but no food. Will eat when I get back. I already have a gift and card ready so no spending there.

Tomorrow night we are going to a free firework display weather permitting. I am thinking of taking a flask of hot chocolate and something homemade to munch and we will be taking glow sticks with us and flashy things! All spend free :) M had the choice of going to the fair tonight locally or tomorrow in town after the fireworks and chose to go tonight. This way we get two outings - he's not daft!

    Happy days.

Day 2 and also a spend day as I did the big Tesco shop-did manage to get it down from 66.25 to 43.01 with all my coupons and vouchers, and that included washing powder and fabric conditioner and vanish(half price and grubby school shirts) and things.I will need to top up on Weds with milk and bread and fruit and poss sandwich things but that's all apart from bills this week.So not spending anything until Weds now.

  • Hello everyone

Everyone seems to be on plan so far, me Im still working it out....
Yesterday was a spends day, I had nothing in for tea and I mean nothing!!! So went to Aldi on the way home from work but didnt get much as didnt have the energy or the inclination (after a late thurs and a early fri sh*t shifts at work) to be organised and do a big shop that would last longer than 2 days:o:o:o.
I had an email today of the bank with good news:p, with the type of account I have, in the last year I had £107.09 cashback and interest back of them. Very chuffed with that, although I looked back and found that I did pay about £10 in charges to them for being overdrawn twice:whistle::whistle: although it was only a small amount that I went overdrawn both times.
Anyway plans spendy for this month is as follows:
    Food £90
    Petrol £150
    SFD 25 EEEK!!!!
    Presents £100
    other £50
    Going out £100
    Toiletries £10.
    Make money £100

Im still working my way through my toiletries from the beginning of the year but in desperate need of hand cream. I have eczema and av0n have a good hand cream which helps it enormously. 4 bottles of shower gel still left in my stash:p .
I have 2 bank shifts booked at the local hospital so my making money should be done and I also hope to book a few more shifts in the coming weeks. Ive only got 7 shifts this month in work to do, as I have annual leave, time owing, training and days off :j:j:j:j.
Ive got one last birthday present to buy this year and need to get some christmas present shopping started. Last year I spent £464 on xmas presents so want to reduce that a bit.
Anyway see ya all later xxx
Halifax CC All paid Mort £7669.99,Car loan 31 months to go
    Food 99.25/100 Petrol 133.12/150 presents 59.12/80 going out 73.75/150 toiletries 4.50/5 other 179.07/100 money made 480 SFD 11/20

    hi all,

I hope you don't mind that I'm a little late to the party ...

I made my foodbank donation today (tea, biscuits, some tins), and will edit this post to include my budget.

Thank you NSK - I am inspired by your dedication and devotion! last push! :)

    NSD 0/25
Food 0/25 - I live with my folks, so this covers meals and drinks that only I want (should be easy to manage!)
Petrol 0/90 - I only have to fill up 3 times between now and pay day so i hope to only spend 75 - but we'll see how work goes
Declutter 0/20 - will find this challenging but will try - did a massive clear out in the summer
    Foodbank 3/3 - done
Make 0/80 - going to be claiming a payment from work for some training I led - can this count?
    Misc 0/25 - ICE! hahaha.

If I understand it right, a SFD is when you spend nothing. The exceptions are usually listed in the first post but generally include direct debits, petrol (as long as its allocated in your budget), medications, reduced/yellow stickered items, preplanned children's clubs/activities/sports e.g. football training.

I think anything else, whether its from your food budget, misc budget or any other budget counts.

    Evening all,

Not a SFD today as I went to the charity car wash (paid for OHs and my cars to be washed) and also donated to the poppy appeal. So total spends of £12 to Misc budget :)

  • Hi all,
    Checking in with second SFD:j
I have also decided to sell my posh baby cot (Leander swing cot) which we are not using. So hopefully that will be my 80 made. I just need to wash it and get an advert going for it.

As I'm home on mat leave I can't make more money by working overtime. A lot of people are mentioning making money doing surveys. Do you all know of some which pays in Amazon vouchers or via PayPal? And do you really make anything...?

To continue on the declutter part of the challenge I've sorted two bags of maternity clothes to give to charity as well as two bags of baby clothes my 11 week old has already outgrown (gosh it goes so fast!). The individual items are well over 20 so to make it harder I am counting each bag as 1 item. That makes 7 of 20.

I find all your debt busting really inspiring. I did really well in 2012 and cleared two credit cards (totalling £9400). Sadly my debts total a lot more than that. Speaking of that I am tracking my debt payments using an app (iPhone) called Debt Strategy. My total debts (including student loan but not including mortgage) is £48300 my debt free date is 2020. Obviously I aim to speed things up. Unfortunately my house needs a lot of work done on it but I hope to clear my remaining two credit cards and overdraft then save up to do the improvements needed. Unfortunately hubby has not seen the light and wants us to get on with things. I have to stave him off!!

That's all from me for now (sorry this was so long!). Have a great Saturday all :p
Finally had my eyes opened and I am ready to tackle my debts!
