Thanks, we'll be sleeping a night on it. The lodge vs a chain hotel in town had various advantages that seriously justify the higher price. Also going by gut feeling when first entering all the venues viewed. Will be sensible and make a detailed pro and con list as well as detailed costs. Will let you know the outcome on Monday.

......or tomorrow. Already writing a post in my head, lol

    Evening all,

Feeling very proud of everyone's achievements today, well done everyone!

Today was a spend day. Went to meet my mum in town, used bus card for free travel, mum bought lunch, I returned the two dresses that I bought last weekend as both were horrible and got a better one in the DP sale for £20 :) Bought a Christmas gift too so nearly finished the Christmas shopping :)

Very excited to start the DDD challenge :)

Re Dec food bank, tesco are doing collections this weekend and will add 30% if you buy from the shopping list (not sure how that works). So you can get food bank done nice and early and they can get extra :) there is a list of stores here-

    Good afternoon everyone.

A huge congratulations to all of us-we have come so far!!! We have reached the end and are ready for more :D What I have really liked on this thread, is that there has always been someone to offer a pick me up when needed and that's lovely :T It's very easy to start these journeys, but with servicing debt more fashionable than a little black dress at christmas, it's very hard to stay straight :o

Well I have managed to achieve all targets, apart from making anything. I knew I wouldn't anyway, so I'm happy. Well good luck everyone for Decembers challenge :D

  • Hello ladies (and gents),

I have utterly, utterly failed this month. I won't even post the figures as they are that lamentable. To be fair, I don't even know what the figures are at this at this stage which gives you an idea of how bad I have been. :o

Anyway, onwards and I pwards for Decembet. The entertainment budget might be a little stretched, though. :o

  • Well, goodbye to NOvember and hello to December tomorrow!

A very disturbed night due to cats... DH slept badly on sofa with cat, me badly in the bed with new kitten... both knackered now! Kitten upstairs now and Cat sulking outside. Hmmmm, methinks this could go on awhile.

In summary, we did 21 NSD, lunches to work every day, no coffee shops (was that this month?), only one unplanned meal out spend, and saved WAY more than we thought we could. Money donated but no money made (other than claiming back things we have been prevaricating on). We did massive declutter and sell in Oct so nothing left in our house but the bare essentials!

Signature updated and plans for the new year are to save at least another £100 per month on top of what we saved in November at least for Jan, Feb and March, as they are such dry months anyway!

    See you all in December!

    Thrifty any decisions yet?

Righto... have finally caught up now I am back in the UK so...

MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS to NSK and loveadove!! It is so inspirational to see other people succeed. It shows that with hard work and determination, we can all reach our goals. (sorry, it's a bit smushy and predictable but true).
    _party_

WELL DONE to fyggy for her new job!! and to shyspender for reaching 25 spend free days!!
    _party_

feel there should be a more celebratory smilie. like one with fireworks or something. a party smilie just doesn't seem brilliant enough.
    :undecided

In my news... I had to give my 2 euros to my auntie so we could get some lunch in the airport. (long story and one I won't bore you with on this bit).
However, I came home with ONE CENT!!!!! and didn't borrow any money from my mum. I never even took my credit card with me so no chance of splurging on that.
    :D

Feeling very proud of myself although I do think you guys have broken me... saw some lovely stuff and instead of going "oooooooooooooh" and picking it up, I was questioning "do I NEED it".

Could really be done with going shopping. However, today is the last day of the month... and if I spend nothing then it is spend-free day number 25. (did warn you that I was an over-achiever). So... here I am with cereal and some tinned soup in the house. Will think about shopping tomorrow once I have reached 25.
    ;)

Thanks for putting me at number 8 NSK. Away to go and check out the challenge now.
    :D

oh: Hope you can maybe do a deal with the wedding venue thrifty. Fingers crossed you get your dream.
