Today will be a SFD, am resisting the urge to comfort shop!

    Good morning,

SFD number 22 toady. Transferred money to OH to pay for the MOT, service and the road tax (total £480 ) from our savings (£280) and the car pot (£200).

Will try to make up for that next month as I can't rely on him having money left over to put back in the pot :(. But December shouldn't be too bad. Will do a top up shop this Saturday (max £40). Had another cheap dinner last night (frittata using up leftover cold cuts etc) so there is still plenty of meat in the freezer and I will only need fresh stuff for the next 1 1/2 weeks. When I'm away OH can fend for himself :p (got my Euros for Germany this month). Back here for 5 days and then over to FIL for 3 days, back home here till the 2nd. So I'll set my food budget at £200 for December and my other and HH at 50. Might take DS to a Santa day (will budget for that, £10) and have a girlie night the same day (just take some juice anyway). Hope there won't be too many other social outings (bit unpredictable this time of year) but we'll see. Trying to be very strict to reach at least the 23% mark in our DPM pot and 20 SFDs should be easy. Although hopefully we'll decide on a wedding venue this weekend and need to pay a deposit, but that's in the pot already.

Getting excited for December although I will miss you guys for a few days when I'm off home or at FILs. Will try to sneak on the internet whenever I can.

Hope NSK feels better soon and we can get a glimpse of the new thread :D

    Debt-free and Proud!
Morning everyone, thoughts with you hismissus , hope all goes well at the appointment.
DH and I did the christmas shopping and have £40 left to spend on nieces and nephews and my brother and his wife and we need to get a few bits for the parents. I wish i had agreed no presents for grown ups on my brothers side but I can't really go back on that. Still I think I might just keep it simple again and make up spice mixes and chocolate drops which went down really well last year.
Anyway, I'm proud that I kept a running total of stuff AND with my JL Card I got a free cake and coffee and with some golden arches vouchers we got a cheap lunch! I'm so pleased we put money away for Christmas, we have £80 to spend on food which I think is more than enough.
Anyway I digress, DH has done his balance transfer and worked out how long it will take him to pay, his DFD looks like it will be in August by his calculations. He has said he will cancel and cut up the old cards and will take on the bit payments challenge. I think he has certainly had an LBM! Woohoo!

Hi everyone! Good luck Missus for today :)

Well done Mrs GSR with putting money away. I will try that next year. My spending has been more reactive than proactive :o I've limited the presents to £30 each for the kids, but will go over for the little one-but these are all paid for with cash. I have accounted for everything so no nasty surprises :)

Other family will get gifts within this threshold too. I did have to spend today on a vacuum cleaner finally. So that's 35.00 for a reduced Vaxx which i'm pleased with.

I have one spend day left, in order not to go over the challenge. I get paid tomorrow, so credit one (a debt card), will drop just below 1k and should be paid off in january-the date is set as an alarm on my phone :T This time last year, it was over 4k so I'm very pleased. Although I still have a steep hill to climb, I'm actually climbing it now-as opposed to continuously transferring the balances around in cyber space :o

Good luck everyone and NSK I hope your feeling better than yesterday. I'm starting to feel human today :T
