Well, i wont make our savings target of 25% next month. The MOT etc came to 200 quid, which i had ready separately. However, road tax of £280 is also due and will be taken frim the savings as OH first wants to see how December goes and then he might put some money back in the savings. Mmmhhhh........DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250

Confessions - I think I got flashed today by a speed camera as I came out of a junction infront of a car travelling faster than I thought it was. Sped up to get out of it's way as it immediately changed lanes as well into my lane and go flashed. Not sure if it was me or him but I think it was me. 3100 fine and 3 points - GREAT!
Sorry to hear this NSK. Hope it wasn't you!NinjaSavingKat wrote: »
EyesWideOpen... I just read back on all the posts properly.. I cannot believe it was £3.99 for baby wipes and you only got 24 of them??? What a complete joke.. you are right, they are taking advantage of parents who don't want to wander to far from sick kiddies so will buy them anyway. Disgusting if you ask me. How is bub today?
Thank you NSK. I really felt angry about it, still do but what can you do. Bub is much much better though she has been quite poorly and lost weight. So we've been in and out of hospital for tests and medication.
This leads me on to confess that I haven't been able to check in or read as much as I wanted. I have, however, managed 17 SFDs which is okay considering all the drama. I won't make the 25, obviously, but feel this month has been a good first attempt at the challenge nonetheless.
I've also kept up the MSE ways by reading a book about some women who stopped shopping for a full year. I lent it from the library no less!! Go me! It was thought-provocing and a good read alongside the challenge I think.
I'm gearing up for next month!!Finally had my eyes opened and I am ready to tackle my debts!

EyesWideOpen- I hope your lil poppet makes a speedy recovery and starts to put on some weight. It must be very worrying for you!
Well done on the 17 days, and keeping one eye on the MSE mindset despite recent events! What was the book called that you have been reading it sounds fascinating?

Evening all,
Spend day as expected, I bought lunch at work (first one all month) and got a Christmas gift at the shopping evening (but spent less than £10
)
I transferred the money from OHs account and added it to a cheque I got in the post at the weekend, so paid another £95 off the ccardGot another tutoring sessions tomorrow so that's another bit of money to pay off the ccard too
I'm hoping to get to the 10% paid off my debt by New Year, and I'm really excited

Hey guys! Thank you so much for all your many well wishes to my exciting news! :T
I will hopefully be in post by 6th Jan or the week after. Going in today to tell them. Putting my notice in end of next week all being well.
The job is a promotion as such. But, I'll actually be worse off! My basic should go up £2k p/a but I do 75% of my working hours during unsocial times- weekend, nights BHs etc, so I actually will get about £150 PCM less than I do now. However, in the long run this is better as I have room to progress up the payscale, whereas now I'm at the top with no payrises in sight. And moreover it's the job I've always wanted to do!
I'm going to sign up for bank and agency so if my salary is too drastically low or I just get a £1k payrise I can do additional work if needed as where I work currently is very specialised and pays well to agency. For the first time in my working life (15years) I'll be working normal days and normal hours. How weird! NHS staff for you!Debt at LBM June 2013- £31,300
Debt July 2014- £16,736
