Today was going to get out to get stuffing, but can manage without it. May need rabbit food, the type he's got doesn't agree with him. Need the one without flakes, will try and hold off till tomorrow.

Here for December's challenge. Got a weeks holiday left to take, will have to think of days out without spending a bean. :rotfl:

  • Hi everyone,

Kat - it's fantastic you're nearly debt free :j and I also would like to say thanks for doing this challenge, its been a very difficult year for us what with illness and the loss of my beloved at this time last year but doing this has gave me a bit of inspiration to knuckle down and carry on, which is what he would want. Anyways i'm now on SFD 22 and have only spent £47.50 of my food budget, made £14, took lots of stuff to charity shop and took back a dress I bought that I totally didn't need in the first place and got my £28 back :)
    Total debt - £16,687.86 approx. - Paid so far - £13,156.30 - £350. a month to DMP - DFD 17/01/2019 But I WILL make it sooner!!
  • Helloooooooo Guys and Dolls,

Kat - Fingers crossed about ticket!! I like your donation alternative though! I accidentally went through a Red Light today on a large roundabout, approaching it they did not look like they were on (they are on and off what appears to be random times in the day). As I reached roundabout I was blinded by the sun and could not see directly infront of me (couldn't see the traffic lights), saw a gap to my left so went for it, to then approach the traffic light to see that it was bright red...uh oh. Not sure if there are cameras- it's a horrible feeling though. :(

Anyhew, I have posted my incredibly frustrating to pack ski jacket today, off to me eb@y recipient. You would not believe how much time I have wasted trying to package the bl**dy thing! Too big to be a small parcel no matter how I tried to package it (by 1/2 cm) which bumped the price up an additional £3 to send as a 'medium parcel.' too heavy by 10g (1010g),which meant the price jumped up a further £3!! I spent about an hour cutting down the parcel bag it was in, to remove those grams 1 by 1, pulling off little bits of excess sellotape here and there and obsessively weighing it each time. The trimming paid off, eventually and I got it to 999g! Horray! So in my money made for the month- I now have: £22.14. I do not even know why it still shocks me how much you lose to eb@y/p@ypal fees, and the postage is *always* more than you think it will be. Anyway, let's hope it arrives in one piece then I'll be able to breathe a sigh of relief! *Phew*

    SFD numero 21. :)

Fyggy Hope your interview went well!

Hope everyone has a good evening, this evening I shall be attempting to...jog!

    well done fyggy!! :T:beer::j

for those interested in macs- is def deal day friday so wait till then!

have you found an alternative room to rent now kat?

nightmare with my remortgage- the interest was added on a day after they did the statement so was much more than i thought plus the solicitors want their fees with this payment now. so £2071 i need to send to them :eek::eek: is about £400 more than budgeted for. luckily spoke to current mortgage co who have given permission for me to cancel my dd instead of the taking it and refunding it so can use the money in my current account to make it up. at least this means this is everything i need to pay so all incoming money from now on can be used for debt repayments. but have put quite a bit on my cc to keep the cash free so plan is to repay cc, wait for letter from new mortgage co confirming first payment, make sure have that then start to repay dad money i owe him. also need to pay £188 tax bill. dont like this all over the place approach to finances as figures are out of my control :(:(

  • Hi All and Well done Fyggy :T

No more SFDs here i'm afraid. Yesterday I bought lunch - the only one I have bought this month. I still felt queasy and just needed something bready if you know what I mean, and fizzy water and french fries!

Later yesterday I popped to Morrisons for flowers for a friend and some yellow sticker bits. Spent about £6 on groceries so almost all grocery budget has gone now!

Today, I bought rich tea biscuits for my son's friend who was coming round - these are his fave and while there got 100g of coleslaw. That's another couple of quid.

Tea yesterday and today was veggie chilli and rice - made with quorn mince, mushrooms and onions. I had not got any red kidney beans but used borlotti beans instead and it was fine. Clean plates all round :)

I am off tomorrow, need to make a to do list but it should be productive all being well.

Have agreed (relented) to put the Christmas tree up on Sunday! Who's with me?? :)

    fyggy congratulations!!!

purplejay we usually put the other christmas decoration out on the 4th Sun before christmas (I'm german so that's a pyramid and loads of other little items typicall to my home region, will post pictures later) but the tree doesnt go up till after the 12th.

clippy girl that sounds confusing :(. Luckily our remortgage was more straight forward.

NSK, yay, only three more sleeps to debt freedom.
DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/25
  • Fyggy well done! massive congrats!
NSK how exciting, nearly debt free - an inspiration to us all! You so deserve it! well done

LoveaDove keep up the running! Don't feel bad about huffing and puffing your way past other people, they aren't running and probably feel envious and in awe of you jogging past them! Go for it! (and you'll soon get fitter and faster and even more awesome at it)

Wow, a lot of achievements going on in our little crew - bring on December's challenge Kat.

NSD here, and DH made the spreadsheet even more whizzy to automatically minus the minimum percentage payments coming off the cards each month rather than just us manually altering the card total we are attacking at that time, so our figures are totally up to the minute up to date and look even better! yeay! Feeling good about chewing up and spitting out this debt... might even have it all done by the end of 2014, rather than our prediction of Autumn 2015. Fingers crossed!
LBM Aug 2013 - DEBTS AS OF THEN £25,150  now: £0 :j

Fggy well done on getting the job

    Food £327.17/350
    Petrol £266/250
Local food bank 6/6 (missed last month so will double up today)
    SFD 18/25
    Lunch to work 18/21
emergency lunch fund 0/£10 (two of us)
    Declutter 3/20
    Extra money earned/made 37.25/£80
    Christmas shopping £63.70/£250
    Outing £20.80/£20
    Coffee shops etc 0/0
    Beauty £8.73/£10
    Takeaways £28/£0:cool:

Okay so this month we will manage 20 sfd which is up on last month so happy with that. Lunches all taken to work and within Grocery budget too. Have started the decluttering but had a busy month so haven't managed to get it all to charity shops so that will be high priority next weekend as I am on the month;y shop this Saturday and Sunday we are going to the science museum. Outing was 80p over budget but we were naughty and had a chinese takeaway one saturday and I treated the boys to a MacDonalds last Monday which were not at all planned, so slapped wrists for those.

Beauty spends were within budget which I am pleased about as it was a stock up on shampoo and showergel which will last a few months. Petrol was slightly over but OH had two trips up North (he can claim the mileage and in the end we will be £60 better off including paying for petrol in first place) so fine about that. All in all not a bad November and looking forward to December.
