 Hi Everyone,
I do not think I have checked in since Thursday when I was heading out for my enthusiastic walk (jog). Both my running buddies bailed so I went it alone, probably only did half the distance we normally cover as I suddenly felt a bit of an idiot running in the dark alone. It wouldn't have been so bad if I were actually fit, so I saved the night humans the ordeal of having to listen to my heavy breathing by cutting my route short!
Friday, Sunday and Monday were SFD's. I lost a SFD on Saturday due to having to purchase some butter (£1)! Doh! I was baking for a cake and tea trip to my friend's when I realised that I was missing a key ingredient. It was worth the sacrifice though as the baked goodies were yummers!
Total SFD's = 20
I've *finally* earnt a lil bit of money on ebay, just need to send the item before I can officially confirm money made. :T

Hi everybody,
It's interesting reading everybody's reviews. I'm not ready to do mine yet as I know I'm going to have at least 2 more spend days before the end of the month.

Hello NOers!
I very excitedly reached 20/25 SFDs yesterday, which if you look at my sign you'll see that's the most I've hit since starting these challenges. So very pleased I'm set to surpass this.
Today is the day of my job interview. Eee! Hoping my next post will be to say I've got the job. Fingers crossed. It's not until 15.20 so I've all day to stew and stress! Oh well. Gym first then the rest of the day to prep myself and prep my presentation!

As yesterday marked the end of NOvember for me as I got paid, I thought I would do a proper round up of the month.
SFD 16/25
I started off really well with these but with having little spends some days these added up. I did much better with these in October s I am a bit disappointed that I couldn't do it.
Grocery 218.53/200
This was really hard. Especially with a DH who keeps buying bits and forgetting the receipts  I've upped the budget for this month and I have put £20 in £10 notes in a purse for him to take to work so any spends can come out of that. Went to hey diddle lidl for the first time after someone reccomended their nappies to me. (I use washable nappies during the day but disposable nappies at night.
Foodbank 3/3 This was pretty easy and I find it quite fun thinking of what meals one could make from them, however I do think depending on
where you shop you won't always get a lot for your money. I got tinned potatoes, mixed veg, mushrooms, a 500g bag of pasta and a tin of beans from my local high end supermarket. Had I gone elsewhere I could have got more so next time I will go to the stretching of pounds.
Going out 1/1 This was easy. We rarely go anywhere anyway!
Declutter 20/20 I already had collected a bag full of stuff for the charity stuff so this was sorted. There is more though so I will be sorting that out!
Make £80 £141.05/80
I'm really proud of what I have achieved here. This has been a combination of fleabay and OT at work. The OT has gone to pay CC1, I posted earlier in the thread that I had worked out how long it would take to pay CC2 by working OT. I will certainly be taking part in the make £££ a day challenge and the 1 debt in 100 days challenge.
The fleabay money will go into our JA to help bump that up a bit as it's my aim to have at least £250 left in there a month after everything goes out.
Toiletries 4.10/10
I'm a pretty simple creature so all I needed was shower gel, body spray and a roll on this month. I also bought the kids some toothpaste and have been using up babysoap on them instead of buying body wash which has actually really helped their skin.
Overall: I haven't had a great month with one or another things going wrong but I think I have done fairly well. Paying off CC1 has been a big thing for me so I am proud that I have finally got rid of that after 5 years of paying it off!
These challenges have really made me think about where our money goes and what we really need and want. I sat at the table last night after my dinner and thought I'm lucky, I've had a nice hot meal, my house is warm and my children have full tummies and warm clothes and even if we have had a rubbish year with cars going wrong, ill health and general bad luck there are so many things we do have that others do not and for that I am very grateful.
I'm going to thank NSK again for these challenges and all of you for the fantastic support and motivation, when I have been feeling low I have come here first for a virtual hug.
Roll on December, and roll on debt freedom!Squirrelling away in September No 33It's not about the money, it's about financial freedom, being in control of it and living in the natural world and not a material world0 -
Im here to confess i have totally messed up this month, havent got a clue how many sfd's ive had or how much ive spent or how much ive spent on groceries :-/ hence my no check in!
I will be back in dec and will try very hard. My pay is down to the statutory maternity now and today is the first day that im scared about looking at my account online as ive got a feeling its going to look terrible!
Budgets need to be re-written for dec, how ever i have no idea how the budgets will look on such little money. I have got a full freezer and well stocked cupboards, so the main shop will be for a turkey and the trimmings, which ive been putting money in a sealed tin for all year.
On a good note, i have sold lots on 3-bay, out of which i did treat myself to a dress, jumper t-shirt and cardi, also from 3-bay! All for about 99p each and originally from monsoon and next!im trying to fot in to my normal clothes but am not quite there yet. Still leaves me with a little figure in paypal which ill pay off the cc once i know how much fees are. Quite enjoying the decluttering side of it aswell as the money im making!
Also i havent eaten out or been on any trips etc, dh has taken food to work everyday 2.
Beauty spends are £4.39 which was shampoo conditioner and toothpaste, so very much essentials!, i did run low on shower gel and my mother needed mousturiser which i have loads of so we did a swap and i gave her 2 and vice versa!
Well done to everyone this month have been having a read.
Quite angry at myself tbh but onwards and upwards i supposeStill here..... but working on that!0 -
Fuggy, fingers and toes crossed for your job interview.
Toady should be SFD number 20. Only three days to payday, can't wait. Hope to get my debt prevention pot (or wedding pot atm) to 25% on Friday.
Just done a mental freezer stock take and think I that explains my overspend on food, we should have enough meat to get us till the day I go home on the 12th (at least 14 meals )
drumsticks (2 meals)
thighs (2 meals)
chicken breast (2 meals)
chicken legs (2, 1 meal)
chicken wings (2, starter)
sausages (8, 1 meal)
beef mince (2 meals)
rabbit (2 meals)
prawns (for 2 meals)
white fish (1 meal)
a small beef stew (1 meal).
So my aim for December is not to buy any meat till after the 19th.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/250 -
HI EVERYBODY!!!!
Look I am back in work really early ( I was honest I was gov'na) after finishing late - what a treat! :rotfl:.. Okay sarcasm aside may I say it is simply 3 sleeps until there is money in my account and a further 3 sleeps until I can ring my bank and declare myself debt free... WHOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Albeit I am tired and feel like I could sleep for a week I am feeling POSITIVE. Thank you to everyone for their confessions. I won't lie, this month has been hard on the card ( oooh new phrase ) and I have to pay off about £280 in Decembers PLUS that wretched speeding ticket that I know will come through...
I have prayed about this. If I don't get the ticket, the relief of not having points will be enormous so I shall be giving the £100 to the Phillipines fund. I think I will pray again tonight....
So I need to stop looking recipes up online - anything vegan related I feel I have to buy (sundried tomatoe paste for home made sausages anyone?).. I have a spagetti squash sat on my book shelf cause I am running out of room in the kitchen...??? I have nuts, seeds, coconut milk, coconut sugar, and tubs of nutritional yeast tucked away in a cupboard in my room - notnormal.com...(Siousxie will understand)..:rotfl:
So December's budget has already been rejigged.. I am going to ve strapped as I need to put aside £400 for the impending house move... That means I am left with pretty much nothing for Christmas. I have already broken the news to my Mum who isn't fussed but it makes me angry and honestly makes me not want to listen to anything the LLL has to say about what she's buying and where she is going - I just want to scream BUT YOU HAVE RUINED MY CHRISTMAS... but I won't..
So right now I need to work... apparently.... more from NSK later...:p:p:p“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Well done Kat - Debt free is within grasp!!!
Can I join in Decembers challenge. I need focus :-)0 -
Checking in after a looong absence. Lovely weekend away in York vivsitng friedns, and not too spendy.
I am up to SFD 16, and so won't make it all the way to 25, but will be able to make 20.
Keep going everyone - we've still a few days of November to go, don't give up now, however dreadful you month has been!Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150
