Yeah - good news! on the no buns & the shopping.

Why does my asda never reduce items that much
Thanks :D I think that even though my asda is a 24hr (are they all 24hr now? I dunno) shop, the counters close at a certain time of night and the fresh produce needs to get shifted. So if you can figure out when the first reductions on fresh are made, I imagine an hour or so later the goods are reduced more to save stock going in the bin. I love bargain shopping, even if it does mean I'll prolly turn orange with all the smoked cod! :rotfl:

I am very jealous of your food bargains - the best I ever seem to do is reduced bread or 20p off a pack of mince.

    Must try harder!
To be fair, because I'm still out of work I have all the time in the world to walk around for hours and subtly stalk staff with sticker printers lol. The things I'll do to eat on the cheap.

ACK! I don't want to go through puberty AGAIN! First time was hellish (growing boobs was actually horific lol). Are you going to your asda for a NYE stalking spree, SS? I'll be back at it again in the new year since I'm all stocked up for a good few months on fish lol x

I'll try my hardest, I went in on christmas eve though and I don't know about the fish but there was no veg at all! all had been removed from the store, will go looking for fish/meat to stick in the freezer next time.

what about the pressie from boyfriend? was it ok?

The veg in my asda started getting reduced around 2/3pm, by 5pm the shelves were bare. If you've got the time to spend and arent put off by it, i say head in a bit earlier than closing time and walk around for an hour (or two).

I've not seen my BF yet, we're exchanging xmas pressies on saturday when I visit but I think my worries were unfounded *PHEW* I've been stalking the grabbit boards and came up with some great pressies for him:

*Asda housecoat (thick and fluffy!) £20 reduced to £10

*Bloke perfume called A*Men, £25 down to £20 (not on the grabbit boards that one)

*A walkman MP3 player and DAB radio in one *click for a peek* Priced at £59.99, but if you reserve it online and pay at the quickpay station in ARGOS it comes up at £24.99.

*And last but nor least, another argos glitch . *click to peek* Originally piced at £89.79 it was reduced accidently too far and the website shows £7.99. So I'm heading into the ONLY shop in and around Glasgow to go collect it tomorow. Some folk have said they'd been refused sale because of the price error, others said they paid and collected easily enough. So I'm hoping that it's nice and busy and I walk away with a crackin' buy.

If I get the robo thing *fingers crossed* then:
Original cost of pressies - £194.78
    purchased for - £62.98
    Saved - £131.80 :T

Dear MSE and all who contribute to her......I LOVE YOU!:j:T:j:T:j

Naughty girl, your last post was after 2am!!! What happened to getting an early (ish) night!!???

Good luck with the argos thing - on the website the code number no longer comes up so I hope you manage to be successful as you have reserved it.

    Have a good day x

The grabbit board is SO addictive, I thought DFW was bad but that place really takes the biscuit! I will be having an early-ish one tonight tho, I'm seeing boyface tomorow so need to recover some sleep after scouring for bargain pressies for him.

Yup the robodino things seem to have been pulled from online (again), I'm going to quickly get dressed and head to the shop to see if it's still eserved at £7.99 tho. I'll update when I get back.

Have a grand day Hypno, and everyone else xx

ACK! The robo thing was at 44.99 when i went in to collect it, daft @rse here bought it because I had my heart set on it for BF :(
But I realise this is bloomin daft and the store I bought it from closes at 8pm so I'm just about to down a cuppa, jump back on a bus and return it (after some light complaining to see if it gets me anywhere). gutted. Oh well, he's got stuff already, that'll do. *sigh*

Who'd have guessed that 2008 is little under twenty one hours away.

I'd like to thank everyone who reads and contributes to my diary for being towers of strength for me. It's been a heck of a year as most of you'll know, and things aren't likely to get any quieter any time soon. But just knowing I have folk all around me who have been in the same situations as I have, and have come out the other side of it, or thoose of you with whom I share a metaphorical boat....... you stop me from feeling alone.

I've come a long way in the six months I've been active on MSE. There have been plenty of highs and lows, little celebrations and nights of sleeping on an empty stomach, all part and parcel of being a DFW and I wouldn't change a moment of it.

Being really honest here, I haven't managed to clear much of my debts at all. I will be sitting down to write out a new SOA and tackle it piece by piece and I have a few ideas about the targets I want to achieve too. I guess I had a bit of DFW burn out and lagged for a while, but I'll be back on track. Fresh new year, fresh new start.

Loose Change Savings: Coppers and five pences will as usual be taken out of my pockets or purse every day when I get home. Instead of keeping them at home where I am likely to dip into them, they'll be getting taken to the credit union once a week to start saving up for debt repayments.

Rats Pay The Rent: Bear with me on this one. As some of you already know I do taxidermy as a hobby and have already sold two pieces of work. I've worked out that on average I am able to sell one of my taxidermy rats for £20. Now I've mentioned this to a couple of folk and they they think I'm pretty off the wall for this idea. However, at the moment my rent arrears are somewhere around £480. If I divide 480 (rent arears) into 20 (average cost of a T rat) I'm looking at 24 rats to be sold to clear my rent. It's my hobby, a growing passion AND it'll help me get out of debt. so that's the concept of Rats Pay The Rent.

Well, that's all from me for now. I wish everyone all the very, very best for a fantastic new year.
    Go Team DFW!!!!!
