  • Do it! you must, the bargains are unbelieveable.

Asda store locator with christmas opening hours found *here* (for any lazy chops out there :p). The sainsburys I bought the olive oil from was MOBBED when we re-opened after christmas. boxes of £15 christmas crackers reduced to BOGOF at 1p! I cannot reccomend being first in or last out of the big supermarkets around this time of year quite enough!

Yeah I know some folk think it's pretty lame, pfft, whatever. I've got a £5pw food budget, darn tootin' I'll walk around the shop for hours waiting for bargains :)

I'll be back at asda at 8am opening time on the 27th (TOY SALE! don't take that as gospel, but it has been the case for my store for the past umpteen years) and after that I'll be there from 4pm 'till closing on the 31st. :T

  • Asda was closed today, so I've not bought a test yet.
Guinea pig is now up on ebay, the ONLY one on ebay UK or USA, so hopefully that should appeal to some collectors out there. I'm not holding my breath over Rags (that's her name :) ) because she was my first guinea pig and I've made a number of mistakes with her. But nothing ventured nothing gained as they say.

Tonight I'm having a late dinner of whole trout baked in a parcel with chopped veg, olive oil, salted skin and pepper (from a pepper grinder aquired in pooundland)

    thats about it really x

There are ZERO buns in my oven

Bought a test and all is well :) so it turns out that for whatever reason, santa felt like giving me bigger boobs this year for christmas :rotfl: I'm still not complaining.

Popped into asda to purchase said test and took a walk past the fresh counters just as the staff were reducing LOADS of fish. So with todays haul I'll not bother going down on new years eve because I feel I've gotten my share of the bargains.

    Today I bought:
Trout - pack of two (with some herb butter blocks in their tummies) x2. £4.69 each pack - 49p ea.= 98p spent, £8.40 saved
    Haddock - £3.49 - 49p
    Haddock - £4.63 - 49p = 89p spent, £7.23 saved
    Smoked Cod - £4.50 - 49p
    Smoked cod - £4.79 - 49p
    Smoked cod - £5.38 - 49p = £1.47 spent, £14.67 saved.

    Original cost - £32.17
    purchased for - £3.43
    Total saved - £28.74 :T:T:T:T

Popped it all in the freezer and I'm just finishing off the bargains bought on chrustmas eve shop. Time to get the dinner on then :)

  • Yeah - good news! on the no buns & the shopping.

Why does my asda never reduce items that much

I am very jealous of your food bargains - the best I ever seem to do is reduced bread or 20p off a pack of mince.
