I am pooping myself.
I've listed a job lot item on fee-bay and the listing fee alone is £41! It's exciting to say the least. I don't stand to make alot after fees ect (maybe £100 or so), but I'm using this auction to test the water and see how it goes.
As I said a few days ago, mum has now got a flat to move into. There's lots needing done to it and luckily she has a back and front garden with it, so that's an upside at least. Yesterday was spent stripping wallpaper in two rooms and today is to be gardening and removing skirting boards. There's lots still to do but now she's got herself a removal company to help out, so that has taken the weight off a bit.
Catch y'all soon xDebt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:

Ooh, good luck with the job lot on ebay! Keep us informed.
Good news on the old family front too - at least it keeps some of the pressure off you xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Hi Joanne!
I have to say when reading your thread, I wonder if im posting in my sleep without realising it!! I too had a sh*t of a step-dad who did a lot to ruin my self-confidence when I was younger (he left when I was 13 though) and I too had a contraceptive 'mistake' which means im probably infertile. I havent seen a doctor though, I prefer to simply refuse to allow myself to want children, although I dont see my brain allowing me to get away with that forever. I booked a docs appointment for wednesday morning for something unrelated which I no longer need, so I think I may go anyway and discuss the fertility thing for the first time ever. Ive been with my OH for 3 years (sorry to those who feel this is TMI!) and unprotected - nothing, nada, zilch. Im a bit worried the doc will want OH in for testing (he wont be pleased!) and is not even like we have discussed getting pregnant, but he isnt stupid enough to think im on the pill or anything, because he knows im not. He knows there is a problem my end (its definately me) but hasnt said anything. I dont even know if I want kids, I just want to know that I have the option and I want to know whats wrong.
Another thing - I also have a website business in the making, but the funding to get the website designed is going to cost a lot of ££ and high street banks wont lend on a website business from what ive found so far (which totally sucks as it could make a heck of a lot of money). I cant get an 'off the shelf' site as its too complex but I have already bought the website, and have an online business book that I delve into frequently!
Anyway, I shall stop rambling on about myself - sorry! I only came on here to say you go girl!!

JCD - I am a newcomer to the thread but just wanted to say you are an inspiration and I will be following your new venture closely - I started up self-employed in January this year and I know how scary it can be to suddenly be on your *own* - relying only on your ideas and your own steam.
You have done so well and should be hugely proud of yourself!MFW #185

I hear ya on the telling yourself you don't want kids thing. I really did want kids, but I'm glad that plan I made a while ago never came to fruit because my then fiancée and I split because he was a jerk so I was saved really. And again, I know what you mean with the wanting to know what's wrong and find out if at some point it's still an option to have kids. Right now I am in NO position to have any, they're the furthest thing from my mind (my flat looks like a car boot sale threw up on it) and I'm still in a bit of a financial pickle. But, maybe one day. And if I can't have my own there are plenty of kids in the UK needing addopted.
If you're looking for a website on the cheap try this place. It's what I'll be using and depending on what you want from it will hardly cost you a thing in comparason to a specially made site. If you have your own domain name already you can carry it over to there, it has all the buttons and checkout thingies you'll need. It's a bit like myspace, but a shop.
All the best with your venture, and thanks alot hon! xxEagerLearner wrote: »JCD - I am a newcomer to the thread but just wanted to say you are an inspiration and I will be following your new venture closely - I started up self-employed in January this year and I know how scary it can be to suddenly be on your *own* - relying only on your ideas and your own steam.

Oh E.L, it really is scary isn't it? I'd better invest in some metaphorical pants due to all the metaphorical pooping myself I've been doing since starting this! Thanks alot for your words hon, as I've said before comments like theese help ease stressfull and otherwise exhausting days. All the best to you and I hope all is going well with your work. Thanks again! xxDebt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:

Hi Sara
Yep it has been suggested already, and I've joined nine (at last count) agencies. I find it hard getting work through them because my entire working life has mainly been unskilled work and my work history is quite patchy. I'm on my third spell of unemployment, been sacked a few times and had to leave work for various reasons most employers care not a jot about (had a breakdown). I'm still plugging away at looking for work, and now that the kids are back at school here it should open up a few positions again.
Thanks hon xx And all the best with new work!Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:

I am the worst at karaoke! my singing voice has been described as both "the kind of noise you'd expect if kicking a donkey" and "a monkey with its n*ts caught in a mangle" :rotfl:
I gotta hit the hay shortly. Up early, bath, make phone calls to collect rubbish outside my mums new house, do her garden, deal with the plumbers and countless other things. *hugs* don't be glum, hon xxDebt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:
