    Hello everyone,

Sorry not to have been around much, although I have been dipping in every few days just to see what you are all up to. Hugs to everyone who needs them. Pigpen, hope you feel better soon, was nice to see the photos of you a couple of weeks ago - for some reason I imagined you with short hair! AnW'smum, glad the memorial service went OK, must have been sad and happy at the same time for you. Lil_me, hope that everything went as well as possible for your friend. Shirley Park, the bathroom looks great - sorry to hear about your troubles with your partner, hope things come right for you there.

Here in Mermaid land it's been soooo busy. We've finally had an offer on our house - the day before we were due to swap estate agents! The offer was a bit low, so we've asked them to increase it a bit and offered to throw in the cooker and extractor hood rather than take it with us. The really good thing is that the people who've made the offer are ready to exchange on their house, so if all goes to plan we could be moving on a couple of months!!! So excited!

The viewing wasn't without its stresses, my DS managed to trample poo into his bedroom carpet that morning, so I was still vaxing it out an hour before the viewers got here, I forgot to tell them to keep their shoes on, so they must have wondered why the carpet was damp :rotfl: ! Also the cat's had fleas - have given him drops and been vacuuming the whole house nearly every day - hope they didn't get bitten.

I get the FlyLady daily digest, and this week's missions are decluttering your wardrobe, so I spent half an hour sorting through all my clothes last night after doing the dailies. The hanging rail is now organised (skirts, short sleeved tops, vest tops, etc) and there is so much more space in there. I can't really work out where the space came from as I only took out one bag of clothes to fling (might Ebay a couple of items) and another bag of old hangers to donate to charity shop. I'll move on to the shelves above the rail tonight - don't know whether to put my jumpers up into loft for time being or not - wish the weather would make its mind up! We might sell the wardrobe with the house as it's a very large one so it needs to be tidy inside in case the buyers want to look in it.

I really want to be more organised about this move. When we moved into our current house, we didn't have any wardrobes (our old house had fitted ones), so the removal men took my clothes out of the cardboard wardrobe they'd transported them in and laid them on the spare bed. Unfortunately I'd forgotten to sort through the contents and they found a black lacy basque, and obviously liked the look of it so much they arranged it carefully on the top of the pile of clothes:eek:! I was mortified, I don't want anything like that happening again!

Now off to spare bedroom for a couple more hours sleep - had to get up as OH's snoring was driving me potty - has a slight head cold.

Have a good day everyone, and happy flying.

Lucky you HopeElizzy, I DREAM of sunshine and being able to hang laundry out. Day 9 of rain and cloudy skies.. so disheartening.

My kitchen cupboards are officially clean and organised. Tonight I'll sort the wardrobe and drawers in lieu of master bedroom and give the light fittings a good clean. How does dust gather so high up I wonder?

Couldn't get hold of my Bro or SIL to ask them about the scan but my silver surfer mum e-mailed me a picture of it. Very sweet, but I think it might be a puppy.

Have a useful day all or take it easy if you're juggling a million things.

My outlaws are Geordies so we love going up north. When you get the good weather (which you will do eventually) Northumberland is a very beautiful place. We've experienced snow drifts on one of our trips up a few years ago and we still keep coming back. You can't beat Bamburgh beach in the sunshine.:D

Wednesday - boston's bumbling about day!!

    Special highlights for today include:

Taking down the glass lampshades in lounge (8), and hall (6) washing and replacing. ( will take me a time as I have to climb and am not good at that)

    More windows

Sorting the storage under the window seat on the landing, packing it for moving stuff and getting rid of rest - ebay or freecycle or charity shop.

Freecycler coming today to collect a bit more stuff and I have to go to PO and ASDA later as I forgot to get the dogs' chicken wings, we ran out of pasta last night, and need a couple of cards. OH away overnight so got the evening to myself !!! Apart from talking to him on Skype that is :rotfl:

Horrendous storm here last night - thank goodness for UPS'S!!!! Still overcast and threatening today but dry so far.

Off to finish the kitchen S&S - already done the bathrooms and work email so on track so far today!

Have a good one folks - take it gently!
  • Thankyou for the lovely comments on the bathroom, it's a huge improvement, shame it's only now that we decided to do something about it.

Today is the first day I've had off work this year, it is long overdue. I'm going out later to puppy sit for the guy who I car share with as this is the first week that the puppy has been left alone all day. So I'm going to pop in and play with Molly for a while. She is so cute and cuddly I'm quite looking forward to it, I'll probably take my camera with me and see if I can get some good photos of her.

    List for today
Vacuum floor in bedroom and on landing
    Check fire alarms are working
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs
Remove bed linen and wash, replace with fresh
Vacuum mattress before replacing with fresh linen
    Clean window & wipe windowsill
    Wipe doors and handles

Clean a set of curtains or a blind - do lounge and dining room as these have already been taken down.

    Plus lots of DIY !!

  • Morning all,

lil me - just sending good wishes for you and your friend and her family,
hev - try not to beat yourself up, you have a young child and its hard to get your act together when they want attention and need feeds and things. I sat last night and realised that when Sophie was Ellens age i had no clue of organisation and it took me till she was 18 months to get sorted and on top of the house, then i fell pregnant! So now im getting back organised and its not always easy and ive had a few cries over it and often feel completely useless with it all but when i stop and think i realise that at least im trying as it would be too easy to sit back and ignore it. keep it up youre doing well im sure

anyway onto the business part!! Im going to add today onto Fridays list as my bedroom is tiny.so todays jobs are

    [strike]sweep kitchen[/strike]
    [strike]mop kitchen[/strike]
    clear bins
    sort table
    [strike] sort desk[/strike]
    clean doors
    pot out tree
    washing
    s+s kitchen
    sort wardrobes

these are all those tomorrow jobs, the ones im always going to do tomorrow plus some dailies so if i can get through these ill be impressed and things will become a lot easier than they have been
