A claim under the Equalities Act 2010 would be for injury to feelings. The minimum a court would award is £500 (documented in various places, Google will find it).Je suis Charlie.0

In terms of the counterclaim, she is entitled to her genuine losses in their conduct, ... against a claim that should never have been made.
If I was the judge I would probably disagree. Three parking tickets in a year shows a somewhat cavalier attitude to the rights of others, and ignoring a county court summons is not a wise move in any ciecumstances.
I would say that it is six of one and half a dozen of the other. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Summons? What was she prosecuted for?
Accuracy, dear boy, accuracy, I know you're very keen on it...Je suis Charlie.0 -

She was not prosecuted for anything, why do you ask?

I think that you will find that I am entirely correct

Hasn't been called a Summons since the late 1990's, and the new Civil Procedure Rules.
It's now a County Court Claim.

But PE will never sue in Scotland, so it's not worth the argument

Nope, and it also wouldn't be a 'County Court Summons', I believe it's the Sheriffs Court up there.0 -
I believe that Rachel has been reported to the SRA on several occasions. So if you are reading this Ms. Ledson, be afraid, be very afraid. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Sorry, but this is completely wrong, and I cannot allow such a statement to go unchallenged.
Lainee is a disabled person who needs longer than most to get around the shops, she didn't inconvenience anyone and she didn't cost PE or The Range a penny. The fact that PE tried to fleece her not once but 3 times simply because she too slow at spending her money in the shops reflects on how nasty a company PE is, it does not demonstrate a cavalier attitude from Lainee.
As BM has said above, Lainee did not comitt any crime, hence she was not summonsed. She received a court claim from a shyster company, receiving such a claim can be daunting for any of us, more so for a disabled person, little wonder she didn't know what to do.
I've said it before but I'm going to say it again, shame on you Rachel Ledson and anybody else who carries out activities on behalf of this repugnant company. Would you do this to your Mother? Actually, thinking about it........All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797).0
