Had a terribly exciting moment on the way to the cinema where I thought I had found a bundle of £20s! You should have seen my face when I discovered it was a roll of £20 design napkins! :rotfl: (To be fair, if it were the real thing I would have handed it into the police :A)
But the fates must have taken pity on my as I found 1p on the way out of the cinema :-)Roadkill Rebels December - £2.49

@HOK3Y.
Hope some kind hearted person finds the ring and returns it to you.
Well yesterday was an out and about day, we visited a few places, we took the kids ice skating and bowling, (the MSE way using a groupon voucher) whilst there I scanned around the cinema, bowling, the bar, the arcades, and found zilch.
Next stop was Home Bargains, (as the wife wanted a bottle of wine to take with us to my Brothers as we going over for a pizza night), so I had my eyes peeled in there to.
First off I checked the trolley bay, nothing, next part of the mission was to scan all isles and found nothing, it was only when paying at the tills that I spotted a nice new shiny 5p, so I swooped down and grabbed before anyone else spotted it, felt like a magpie. Lol.
So running total for the month so far stands @ £1.18.YNAB is my new best friend.0 -

Well done Kate, its amazing how good a feeling you get from finding a coin with such little value.YNAB is my new best friend.0 -
Oh my word!! Sitting here reading all your posts and feeling excited at all your finds - I can tell that you guys are taking this as seriously as I do!! It's official! I am not the only coin loony on the planet!
SU, I sat here and proper laughed out loud!! You are amazing! I would have done the same thing! You deserve that 5p! And hunting the trolley bays? Oh Lord, I am so proud of you! Just keep on not giving a d*mn what anyone thinks - your available cash balance is going up.......theirs isn't!
I am so chuffed to read how happy you all get now to find a penny or two - I am the same way. But those pennies definitely add up! You know, hubby wanted some more coffee pods for his new coffee machine on Friday and they are really expensive - you're talking £3.77 for a box that will make 8 cappuccinos (okay, way less than going to Costa but I'm comparing it to a jar of Nescaf!......!). Anyway, I went through the wombled receipts and gave him a voucher for £3.71 - not bad just from finding a piece of paper on the floor. Then I gave him 6p from the roadkill jar which meant we didn't pay a penny out of our pocket for the coffee.......and he didn't need the roadkill anyway because he found 20p on the floor at the self service when he checked out! We came out ahead! It's moment like that which keep us going - we are making a difference to our finances with a little time and effort and it feels goooooooood! Keep going Rebels! It will get easier I promise!
Thank you also for all your best wishes with hubby's ring - no luck so far. I did manage to coax him into a good mood at my best friends 40th last night and we had an amazing evening. He looked amazing in his kilt and I was chuffed to snag an evening dress for less than £52! Spent most of the evening on his knee much to the disgust of best friend's hubby who swung around occasionally to remind us we had been married too long for such behaviour! Yeah, if we'll get on our hands and knees at a coin star machine in public, I think you have a snowflake in h*ll's chance of getting me off hubby's knee!!
Right, off out to search for pennies - lots of love and luck to all of you today!Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
What a traumatic roadkill day today has been!
My roadkill total for the month is 5p
As I got out of the car on a busy petrol forecourt aforementioned 5p somehow flew out of my handbag (it was in the front section *roadkill pouch as its now/was before this called*) and rolled under the bl&&dy car!!!!
Well there was just no way I was going to come and tell you lovely dfw's that I had lost my only roadkill!! So I stood and I grumbled and I thought to myself "what would Hokey do...." so I got back in the car reversed it and rescued my roadkill!! Hahaha got some funny stares but woohoo I dont care my roadkill is safe :-D
Yes I sure would!!! You go Max!! Can't wait for hubby to get home from work - I'm going to read him this whole page of responses.....he's going to crack up!! :rotfl:Credit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
