It will get easier - that I can promise you from experience! And it is a bit addictive......hubby enjoys the thrill of competing with me and is always proud as punch when he finds something. Of course, he's also not embarrassed to do some frankly bonkers things to bring home a shiny penny or two! :D

You two sound a little crazy in your coin finding exploits! I don't think I have the minerals to try half of what you have.

Some great finds yesterday and today

Yesterday I found a slightly dirty looking 20p coin on one of the clay courts at the tennis club.

This evening I found the grand total of 32p in the university library.

My running total for the month is now £1.14 :)

HOK3Y I have had some great finds in the past inside my local Mc Donalds. Unfortunately I'm banned from eating rubbish food due to my marathon training, so will have to give Mc Ds a miss :(

A no-find day for me,but I am still looking;walking into shops unnecessarily, scouring round, then walking out.Taking the long route deliberately, theoretically increasing the chance of finding something.
I would love to take the kids out this weekend JUST to look for roadkill.
But I know they would either be too young to understand,or old enough to feel very uncool doing it.So I might wait until Sunday when OH visits his parents with kids, and use the day to wander, eyes down.

Earlier tonight I wondered if it was worth making an excuse to OH to drive to nearest supermarket for abit of a search(he would have me certified if he knew I was on a roadkill mission  )

Am I sounding obsessive enough yet,Hok3Y??
    I keep scouring the ground,certain I can hear a £5 note calling my name,but I haven't found it yet .
    This might be my weekend!!
    Good luck everyone :)

Lol! Well, I won't lie - we're a bit obsessed and I'm fairly sure that me and A$da security will be getting aquainted at some point! :D

Brilliant, Emma! And you are talking to a previously certified trainer who would rather gouge out my eyes with a rusty teaspoon than eat the rubbish McDs puts out! Now, I will go in their hunting coins from now on.....thanks for the tip! :D

    :)

Er, yes, yes you are......keep it up! I think it's brilliant!

Well, I have good news and some truly horrid news. W/r total for the 8th was £1.83. Then we took another very late walk (after midnight) and total from that endeavour was 48p w/r and 52p roadkill for the 9th......which is great, until I point out that the reason for the walk was that hubby lost his $2k wedding band on our previous trip. Pretty darn gutted to say the least. No sign of it. Reported to police. Going to put up some flyers tomorrow. :(

Thanks NC and Muhren - me too. Just devastated over it.

Muhren, hubby is American and we just returned to the UK last summer after a long time living abroad. All my debts are in the US which is why you see the $ sign in my signature. His ring was custom built by a US company which saved us a ton of money at the time. I dread to think what it will cost to attempt to replace here.
