I'm sure Pukkamum will know more about this, but it sounds to me like sleep paralysis. I get it quite a lot, and it's terrifying!
Also - yay for the dream thread!! I've been having some right old wierd ones lately, even for me!
I always dream very vividly, but lately I've had a spate of horrible nightmares. I'll describe two because they have similar themes.
In the first, I'm living with my parents and my dog in a long white room. They tell me they're planning on dropping a nuclear bomb and killings everyone we know. I'm beyond upset and come up with a plan to save everyone, and I drive off in a big pick up truck with my dog. My plan to save the dog involves taking off his fur and sewing it back into a dog shape, as a decoy. I try to do this by biting off chunks of his fur, and end up giving up and wondering why I thought that would help. The dream ends with me really upset that I've harmed my lovely dog.
In the second dream I'm the last survivor of some awful disease, and I'm trying to find food to survive. I'm in constant fear of catching the disease and dying, which seems inevitable. Everything is dirty and disease-ridden. Oh and my lovely dog is there too - my only companion in an apocalypse!
The white room you are in represents emotions being kept under control.
War indicates inner chaos or an internal struggle that is tearing you up, the fact that your parents are declaring war indicates they may be the ones causing these feelings or they can help you resolve these feelings.
Dogs represent loyalty, fidelity, protection and intuition, perhaps your subconcious is telling you to use these personality traits to resolve any issues you are facing.
The truck represents hard work in your journey through life, perhaps you feel holding onto or using the traits the dog represents is hard work at the moment.
Biting the dog represents feelings of betrayal.
Going onto the disease dream.
Plagues are indicative of actions that are driven by anger and or resentment and the worry that releasing or revealing these feelings will result in others becoming angry and this will lead to the breakdown of close relationships, the plague leading to the end of the world indicates a fear that a powerful and threatening change will occur as a result of the releasing of these feelings.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
Good timing liney just done yours, now then cats indreams usually represent our need to be cared for, warmth and affection, teeth represent confidence and the ability to assert one's self.
As the teeth are being pulled out of the cat I would be inclined to think that you are wanting to feel cared for, want warmth and affection but lack the confidence and or assertiveness to put these feelings across to someone.
When an acquaintance appears in our dream we think about the trait you would attribute to that person, you say she watches you from behind the window and she is the one who pulls the cats teeth so we can interpret that in different ways.
Do you feel somehow excluded, as if you are on the outside of a situation or relationship and looking in and this what is making you feel a lack of confidence and or assertiveness, or is there another trait she represents?
The anaysis of this didn't sit right so researched a bit more, cats can also be reflective of creativity and power, so the interpretation comes down to you slightly, but the teeth still mean the same so still a lack of confidence and or assertiveness in one if these two areas.
Sorry.
Some feedback on the woman may help here to come to a more detailed explaination.
I think maybe the woman across the road represents the interviewers who have given me knock backs recently as she is not someone I 'know,' iyswim. And I do hide how much it bothers me... Wow! LOL. This dream indicates that in waking life you are a very organised person, cramming your life with responsibilities and trying to live up to expectations, thinking this will lead you to acheiving your goals and having a better life.In reality these responsibilities and expectations are weighing you down making you feel chaotic and actually preventing you from reaching your goals. The dream is your subconcious telling you to cut down your excess baggage and burdens lighten your load in life then you will reach your destination.
Fascinating, thank you.:T0 -
Hi, I had a dream the other night and I must admit I wondered what it meant.
I dreamt I was working in an office that was connected with show business and Darcey Bussell was one of the celebs we dealt with.. In the dream Darcey had something wrong with her throat and had to go into hospital for an operation. The next thing we heard was that she had died. We were all really upset. That's all really.
When we dreamabout celebities we are often thinking about certain traits they posess that we identify with, wish we had or need to utilise.
Usually it is their creative side, the throat problems that result in her dying suggest there is a creative (or other trait she possesses) aspect of your personality that you are supressing or not vocalising and it is in danger of dying if you don't use it.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
Thank you

Hi,
I have a recurring dream which is not very pleasant. I'm always outside and there is something in the sky which is I know is going to drop out of the sky and crash. It's usually an airliner, but has been a helicopter or a small plane. I know its going to happen and there is nothing I can do to stop it. Sometimes parts of the plane break off and fly towards me but never hit me and I'm always alright.
I usually wake up with a jump when I have this dream. I would be really interested to know your thoughts because it re-occurs sporadically and it would be interesting to know a trigger.
Many thanks
An aircraft crash in a dream can mean you have concerns about a plan or project, the size of the aircraft denotes how ambitious the plan is.
The aircraft breaking up indicates that the project needs to be broken down into smaller more manageable pieces.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
Hi Pukkamum, may I ask you to have a look at my dream please if you have time?
I like to dabble a bit myself in analysing my dreams, but would very much like your take on it please.
I approach an old large house that I have been told is mine. However as I stand outside, someone else is in it although I cannot see them, just a feeling someone else has taken it over, and realise the house is no longer mine to have. I stare at the windows and door very hard, there are cobwebs, battered window frames, even the curtains look like ripped clothes, almost haunted like. I feel let down and sad.
Thank you!0 -

It seemed I was relaying messages from her to her mum (who died a few months ago but who was alive in the dream). There were lots of other family members there, mine included. I can't remember any of the messages only that her mum didn't believe me and I can remember saying to SIL 'you are going to have to tell me something to tell her to make her believe me'.
Nothing bad happened just this weird sensation of it only being me who could see/speak to her.
Dreaming of a dead relative or friend can mean you are beginning to be aware of personality traits developing in yourself that remind you of the dead persons character and traits or that you should embrace and or utilise that trait you associate with them if not yet aware of it.I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -
If you get time (but I don't mind if you don't, you've already done one for me!)
Last night I dreamt I was trying to take a shower. At the start I was in a bathroom and thinking of having a shower, when I saw a neighbour through the window. He went into his house but then came into the bathroom through a second connecting door. I wasn't freaked out so it was as if this was normal, but it made me decide not to have a shower there. I left and found my OH who suggested that I use the "public showers" in the park so out we went. The ones in the park were a building of three shower cubicles, each was lined with small blue tiles. I was prepared to have a shower at these 'public' ones but then something happened and I didn't ... and that's when I woke.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
