How did you meet your OH?

DH and I were 'engineered' by my best pal when I had just lost my ex boyfriend and was kipping on her sofa. His birthday, she invites him round for a drink. That was just over 5 years ago. We've been together since then and married for just over 4 years.

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

I was in the process of buying my first house and had just visited the solicitors. I decided to have a coffee at a cafe in town and the place was pretty full but I managed to get a table. A woman asked whether she could share my table as there weren't any others available and being the polite individual I am I said of course.
Not long after she sat down, my phone rang and the ringtone was a song she liked and she mentioned it and then we started talking. We swapped phone numbers and arranged to meet up to go to the cinema because there was a film on we both wanted to see.
We met up regularly for about a month, at which point she expressed her shock at the fact I hadn't realised we'd been dating for that time.0 -
I met my OH at work. He was in the warehouse and I was the only office girl under 40 so it was pretty easy to catch his eye!

Most of my friends have met their OHs through friends though so if you're looking for someone, make sure your friends all know you're willing to be set up!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Another work meeting. I used to drive a forklift, I think he just wanted to know what I looked like in a skirt!0

I met my husband at work, I worked in the office and he worked in the workshop.
I had a 2/stroke moped which was always breaking down, and he was the only one who could fix it.
It was a match made in heaven!
We're still married 42 years later, have 2 children and 3 granchildren.
And he's still fixing things

At work. We work together which sometimes (most of the times!) is not easy, but none of us wants to change jobs as we both like the company.0

easiest way to explain how we met is to say through mutual friends.
My best mate decided I needed help in finding the perfect match as I'd had a string of online dating mishaps, near misses and a couple of serious but ultimately destructive relationships.
One drunken night she was discussing this fact with her flatmate, who also happened to have a best mate in a very similar predicament.
After a few more drinks, they decided to set us up because they figured what was the worst that could happen (basically they pimped us out).
It took a few failed attempts at arranging a first date, however, it was worth the wait.
Whenever I'm asked though, I do introduce myself as the 'internet weirdo'.0 -
My OH was going out with a friend from school (she was 1 yr older than me - 16) She then treated him really badly and dumped him.
I had another friend who also knew him and thought she would do a little match making and locked us both in her car for over an hour!! Anyways was a good thing as we talked and I found out some of the things she had done to OH.
Obvious to say when she found out that he started dating me, she was not happy and tried several attempts to get back with him but it was too late ... we had fallen for each other x
He was my first in everyway and 17.5yrs later we are still together. Our family only gave us 6 weeks and we can now say that we have lasted longer than any of my mums relationships or my OH's brother and sisters (he does have another brother who has also been with his high school sweetheart for over 26 yrs - glad he took after him lol) Not that it gives me satisfaction the slightest ha ha
I was always known as the ugly duckling in school (was actually voted at number 3 ugliest :-( but I am proud to say I am one of the only ones from my class who has stayed together with their partner.
As for OH ex ... She has had 4 children by 3 different dads (of which 2 don't live with her due to past issues). However we are now friends on FB and she is honestly happy for us. She confessed that she did treated him badly and is glad that we got together and are both happy x0
