I am on this one as well - think I'll borrow your mantra :)

Also two of us (usually) and £240 seems good, and it allows me to save a bit for bulk buys and things like Chrissy. You just have to find what's good for you. Good luck

Your pasty looks great - is it HM? If so can I have recipe please.

A BIG welcome to all returners and newbies -a bit of a challenge eh being Chrissy month

I had another NSD today and dinner out the freezer :j We had HM chicken in lemon, tarragon and cream sauce (last one), last of croquettes, frozen peas (cooked) baby carrots (Al*i specials) and asparagus (Al*i) reduced. Very Yummy.

Have a good 'hump' day one and all

Not HM - Mr F fetched it home. I am trying to use up stuff at the moment.

A spend of exactly £10 today, this was in Asda on cheese, 2 for £5 plus milk, shampoo and conditioner.
I am going to the Chinese supermarket tomorrow for a large bulk buy of noodles and prawns and prawn crackers and things. Once that is out of the way my spending will slow down a bit.

    I love the photos:T

Struggling so far this month and only 1 week in! I just don't seem to have the will power at all to be budgeting when i'm shopping. I have had a few days of shopping once in morrisons will an approx. spend of £80 then asda where I spend about 15. Need to dig out my receipts and tot it all up and work out what was actual food shopping and what was Xmas presents cos this is a different budget. will hopefully get squared up tomorrow then I know where I am with things.

My meal plan for the next 7 days are:
THURSDAY(quick meal night as we have dancing) - soup/sarnies
FRIDAY (at work 2-9 so taking tea to work) - jack pot and cheese
SATURDAY (at work again 2-9) - beef madras already in freezer
SUNDAY (at work 7am-9pm) - pasta and sauce
MONDAY - fish and new potatoes
    TUESDAY - chicken and spaghetti
    WEDNESDAY - sausage and mash

So this food plan meals I should in theory have a fairly cheap week. shouldn't need to buy much other than bread milk and fresh bits n bobs and then packed stuff for the little one.

:T Fingers crossed it all goes to plan and I can have a first successful week

  • Updated spends for me! Picked up a few bits yesterday (wine & choc, plus raisins and walnuts to add to today's lunch salad) and the veg box order went out yesterday as well taking my total spends up to £52.91/£150. Have decided to go home a bit early though (next Thursday) which means that I have no more big food spends other than any bits and pieces I pick up for the parents when staying at home (always budget for that as I want to make sure I can pay for the weekly shop if needed, as well as any bits I want). And the several bottles of wine I will likely be taking to parties over the holiday period...
