I have received my customer mandate to sign with a load of info leaflets. I've just come to get it ready to send off and discovered I have either lost or haven't received the pre-paid envelope to send it back to them.
Does anyone know the address to send it to? I will, of course, phone them if necessary tomorrow but thought I'd ask on here first.
It's not like me to lose paperwork, I've been through the bin and the recycle bin twice. When I received the pack, it had been opened by the thieves that work at my local sorting office, so I'm wondering if they nicked the prepaid envelope. Wouldn't have thought it was of much interest to them though! (Royal Mail tampering with my post is an ongoing issue for me at the mo, but I will spare you the details!)
I thought I remembered seeing a prepaid brown envelope when I glanced at the contents a few days ago, but could have mistaken it for another item of post.
Confused here!0 -
Update:
Well last week I had enough as it was getting ridiculous, so phoned them up to enquire and guess what they couldn't find my application even though I had spent 25 minutes applying for it over the phone.
They then called me back after spending about an hour trying to trace where it had gone and luckily they found it, apparently they put it onto the wrong system. They apologized and sent the forms by registered post which I got the next day.
For those that are still waiting I strongly suggest phoning them up again.
Exactly the same situation here apart from after phoning them they were able to find my (successful) application but couldnt explain why I hadnt been sent the paperwork after 3 weeks.
It arrived Christmas Eve by registered post.
Thanks for the heads-up on this.0 -

So far, so good. Now I'll just settle in for the long wait.
can you keep us updated on how long each step takes. i am join to be setting this account up in the next month or two when my other account become full.
OK - applied and accepted 9th Dec. Today my patience expired and I called them. Long conversation with different departments, eventually they found my details and told me the mandate etc had been posted 11th Dec, but must have been lost in the post. Offered to sent it again by either standard or recorded mail. Guess which I requested!
If in the same position as me, then ring sales on 0800 028 3632.
I'll keep you posted0 -

Thanks for the info, I just made an account enquiry I phoned them up and they said it'll probably be Friday when I get a phone call0 -
Got a phone call from one of their staff just before Christmas (19th) to check if I was happy with the way the account was set up. Gave her all my complaints and told her I would be applying for a joint account in the New Year as was too busy with Christmas plans to be stuck on the phone. She advised that they may be withdrawing this account in January 2014 and gave me the number 0800 234 6550. Applied for a joint account that day received the mandate on the 27th December returned same day and received letter today telling me the joint account is now set up."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

Takes about 25 mins on the phone like others have mentioned. Paperwork in the post, only pain seems that you have to apply for online banking separate (I honestly thought it was the default these days, I know Lloyds give you the details there and then when apply in branch for online banking).0

So internet banking is another 25 minute phonecall?!0 -
I already have a Yorkshire Bank a/c up & running.
I applied for Clydesdale a/c & got the the paperwork with customer number-a/c no -sort code on 16 dec which I signed & posted it.
As I have not received any more communication, I rang them today & the customer service told me that I cannot not have 2 a/cs saying that Yorkshire & Clydesdale are both taken into account to determine the limit of 1 a/c policy, which I think that she has got it wrong.
Has anyone got 1 a/c each in Yorkshire Bank & Clydedale bank?0 -

Is this like when your mum said don't touch the stove, you'll burn your fingers. You therefore made an immediate considerate decision and touched the stove. Less severe result, though, when applying for a bank account you knew you couldn't have.0
