Out pheasant bits for casserole Sunday, venison mince for cottage pie, apples for crumble tonight
I had a bit of a sort out. One freezer has two drawers of fish, one of venison, plus fruit and veg.
The chest freezer has just meat, quite lot of turkey, mainly frozen uncooked carcases but there are a couple of whole birds as well, some pork, plus bits of last years venison which will be used before I start on this years carcase, and pheasants/partridges/pigeons. No lamb and no beef.
The other upright freezer has bread, meals I have cooked and frozen for another day, jams, bacon, sausages, anything bought but unopened.
The small freezer in the kitchen under the fridge has any packets that have been opened and not all used, leftovers from when I have cooked a meal which are usually turned into lunches or soup.
For once I feel reasonably well organised. I just have to work my way through the vegetables before June when this years crops will start to be frozen, French beans and beetroot tend to be the first.

I will say this: next time i will use peel instead of zest and i will leave it a lot longer (1 month was not enough) before starting to drink it. With the pear brandy i left it 3 months as suggested by the recipe and one could taste how it improved each month.
Oh, and i used gin and caster sugar instead. It's good for the soul to walk with your soles on the soil.2 -
Out: discovered a big posh panettone that was supposed to be part of a xmas gift we weren't able to deliver, back of bottled pears. Dessert sorted next few days.
