saver - upper I am super impressed with your inventories
i might do mine in a couple of months when I’ve used enough stuff up 😂5 -
Thank you D123456789.
I have really enjoyed doing it. I had been telling my partner for a few weeks that I would be doing a big sort of kitchen cupboards, then starting to run down supplies. And with now being in lockdown, and going out as little as possible, the timing is very good. No more nipping to the shops to get "a few bits for tea", and coming out £40 poorer 🙃😂.
Further to this afternoon's post, more items have been used up -
-2 packets of chicken breasts
-a jar each of korma and tikka stir-in sauces. The latter was a few months out of date, but absolutely fine.
As mentioned a couple of days ago, I defrosted 5 pork chops intending to give them to our dogs because I thought they were too freezer burnt to cook nicely.
I cooked them up for dogs tonight, and they were gorgeous 😂. Think Penny and Lucy were a bit spoilt tonight 😂😂

@D123456789 i ended up making lovely mince and dumplings after reading your post, thanks!
Out yesterday: HM semi-dried tomatoes, parsnips and carrots blanched and frozen from xmas veg sale, herbs and spices, flour all for the mince and dumplings.
Quinoa for batch cooking.
Ms C wants me to show her how to make pizza base, so ingredients for that and the tomato.sauce took out yesterday
Last of the one bag of HM croutons.
In today: cooked quinoa, haven't portioned yet, looks like about 8.It's good for the soul to walk with your soles on the soil.4 -
Ok saver - upper - you inspired me! (Thankyou 😊) Although I didn’t do a full inventory I have been through the cupboards.....
I have 8 jars of condiments all expire 2016 (!) removed from cupboard.
Once empty I put same items together - who knew I had 4 packets of stuffing and 3 tubs of chicken gravy?! To be fair they won’t go to waste but it’s not helpful when they are all in different places in the cupboard and you can’t see what you’ve got.....
carinjo I am glad you had a lovely meal - I buy suet for dumplings, use it once, then forget about it and when I come back to it it’s gone like a paste/ sticky dough and I throw it away. Anyone have any storage tips or do I just have to use it up quickly once opened? Appreciate any tips on this!Out of freezer - mince for either a lasagne or cottage pie, still deciding 🤔4
