@D123456789 Once I open a pack of suet I use a clip on the inner bag and then store in the fridge. The box I have in there at the moment has been there since last winter and the suet is still loose and free flowing so it obviously works.
Been shopping today so some stuff into the freezer:
In: 2 packs mixed frozen fruit; pack frozen cherries; enough sausages packed into meal sized portions;
Out: mince for spag bol tonight.

In - 2 tubs of Rex pie. Used pork mince with mashed potato topping. Named it Rex pie after Rex from Archers as he keeps pigs.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Likewise with suet, once opened I keep it in the fridge.

Out - turkey chunks and a couple of sausages made into a soup/casserole plus using a tin of soup as the liquid. Having just read the posts about dumplings, I've just made some herby ones with the remainder of the suet from the fridge. A couple of bread rolls should complete the meal tonight.4 -
Aha thanks for the tips on the suet - in the fridge it goes. Will give the herby ones a try at some point too 👍
out - small packet of leftover sausage meat , will attempt some sausage rolls.4 -
Happy to have inspired you @D123456789 😊.
Lots of food left the house today.🎉🎉And partner came home from work with another 2 tins of pineapple (to go with the 4 tins we already have 😂😂.)
Out:
- remainder of bag of oven chips. I only buy these occasionally, so that has freed up some freezer-space for a while
- 3 half-empty packets of mince-lots of space cleared there 🎉
- 2 tins of chopped tomatoes (but it's ok- partner randomly bought home 4 tins of plum tomatoes yesterday!)😂.He is messing up my counting!!😂😂
- small bag of long grain rice finished
- 1 tin kidney beans
- small tin of tuna
- last of a box of OXO cubes

The only thing coming out of my freezer today is some peas to go with dinner.
Going to make breaded fish and chips for dinner tonight. Bought some hake to try yesterday rather than cod or haddock so looking forward to that. Chips I always make myself and oven bake them.
@Saver-upper - it would do my head in if my DH just bought random things in! Particularly if we didn't need them.

In - lo potato patties.
Out - pizza dough + smoked mackerel.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Out; bits and bobs from the 3 drawer freezer under the fridge where I keep all my packets once opened. I'm trying to use everything and waste nothing so there could be some weird combinations as the days go on.3
