Out: Slow Cooked beef base for cottage pie
In: 5 Kg chicken thighs (portioned into 4s); 3 lots of low fat sausages
The sausages will last all month and the chicken thighs probably about 3 months, depending on what I put on the menu plan over that time!

I have finally got some space in the freezer. I did a supermarket shop about a week before lockdown and managed 9 weeks before going again. I have picked up the odd thing in the village store, I ran out of butter and potatoes. I’m now eating home grown potatoes so that won’t happen again. My store cupboard has a bit of space too now. It’s been enjoyable planning meals from the freezer and store cupboard and not going shopping. I sometimes do this after Christmas and see how long I can last often getting well into March. I keep my bread in the freezer and only take out what I need and I do the same with cheese, grate it, box it and freeze it. It saves waste. I always have some frozen veg in the freezer for when I run out of fresh and the grandchildren all seem to like frozen peas and sweetcorn. Frozen veg makes perfectly delicious soup.3

In - cooked jacket potatoes
Out - tuna steaks for dinner tomorrow night
I also keep my bread in the freezer and just take out what I want as I don't eat a lot of bread and only ever 2 slices at a time so a loaf lasts ages. DH makes his own bread which I don't eat as I like wholemeal and HM wholemeal is far too heavy!
