Do I need it or just want it.
  • Dannie, hope you are feeling better. My appetite has started to come back but I’m still lacking in energy to do too much or be creative food-wise, so just a stir-fry last night and a “beige bung in the oven” for tonight. But I do need to get my act in gear tomorrow as there are some veg that need a bit of attention and tlc to make them appealing again :o

Thanks for your message Need2bthrifty. I think things are improving thanks. My appetite could have also settled back to its normal pattern.

No weekend shopping so far. The weather "put me off". Also, the fact that somebody I know has gone into town, so will get "one or two" things for me.

Finished all of my yoghurt (purchased and made) yesterday. Today, had a freezer stored recipe which had free blackberries in, collected last late Summer.

Just some coffee purchased last weekend and one online food order to receive next week. No plans to go out shopping; think my health has not improved after all? Plenty of food at home to still use up.

Please may I join? I've just done my December food shopping as I have no intention of going anywhere near a supermarket from now until the beginning of January. I can't fit anything else in the freezer or cupboards so I would like to go as long as possible buying as little as possible - I am on the Grocery Challenge thread too.

Today all sorts of things went in. Out of the freezer was some chicken (already cooked) which I heated up and used with a portion of mashed potato also out of the freezer and some carrots to make dinner for ds (aged 14 and usually known as the HT or House Troll). I also took some bags of rhubarb out of the freezer and made 4 mini rhubarb crumbles - 2 for me and 2 for my friend (who is on steroids due to chemotherapy treatment so is developing eating as a new hobby). I'll drop the crumbles off tomorrow with her Christmas cake which I decorated yesterday.

Looking forward to getting to know you all :)
