Kirri they arw nice, but I made a mistake and put more oats and sultanas than the receipe called for, so a bit rock cake like.

I know what you mean about the freezer, I came to a realisation on Wednesday that the stuff coming out doesn't taste the same, I've made a resolution to buy more fresh in the new year and try and use it up, rather than just put it in the freezer, also going to set a fresh food budget.

Anyone else having resolutions? I've got 4!
You can't say you have 4 and then not spill the beans so to speak :D

Mine is to save more and spend less and sort my house out.

    Tell us them all? :D

I like the eating fresh thing and the fresh budget you're planning, I want to do the same with the fresh foods.
I don't however really buy much for the freezer, barely anything but the home grown stuff and home made meals just don't taste as good frozen. I like the idea of some convenience though.. I eat way more fruit and veg with the veg boxes though.

Resolutions not fixed yet but something along the lines of finding work, losing 1/2 stone by increasing gym visits health allowing, possibly going vegan for a year just to try it (although I'm not sure I'm ready for that commitment yet!), more salads/pulses types meals and further decluttering just about everything in life.

Had out some some stir fry beef for tea tonight and have also taken out a whole chicken to defrost. So that will do Sunday dinner, something Monday although not.sure what - ideas welcome. And then pick the carcass for a curry and rice Tuesday.

    Freezer movements:-
In:- Some pumpkin chutney that I haven't managed to quite finish. Thought, if I froze it, I may be able to do something with it at a later date. Not too worried as the pumpkin only cost 10p and I had the rest of the stuff needed.
    Out:- a gammon

Cooked on my new Ironheart for the first time yesterday. I think it will take a little getting used to as there is no way of regulating the heat, however it made fantastic roast potatoes, and the gammon was cooked to perfection. I have had it lit for five days now and it has already saved me 4-5Kw of electric per day - really pleased, should save me even more if I manage to do most of the cooking on it as well.
