I am still on a mission to empty my freezers. It doesn't seem to happen.

I need to join this challenge again. My freezer is full to the brim and so are my cupboards. I think I'm going to work on getting rid of some of the odds and ends first - single portions of things in the freezer and half jars and packets in the fridge and cupboards.

    In : nothing
Out: tinned toms, chickpeas, carrots, spuds, a lemon & small quantities of flavourings ( I made tagine to use up the veg)

Mine isn't exactly emptying before my eyes! I have used up some of the long-term residents though and my additions have been things like YL bread which we do use, but I obviously need to be patient!

  • Well, the diet is not brill but I am working on it, the reducing the freezer (and cupboards) is not doing brill either but my problem now is, I have a potential date for 2nd hip operation mid July, earlier than expected but good, so I need to cook up some meals for when I am back home alone and unable to do ever such a lot. Have plenty of produce but short of room. Will make lots of soup - freezer veg - have some small meat joints so will have to cook, slice in gravy and freeze, got mince so ragu etc in portion sizes so just have to do more or less instant pasta. I will not be able to bend for a while so need to be handy in kitchen freezer. I am experienced as had other hip done last year. This is all doable with some juggling but not nec, good for the slimming. Ah well, any ideas would be welcome.

Yesterday I used up a started pack of bacon plus some tomatoes from the fridge. Opened a pack of 4 part bake Petit Pains - used 2 so 2 now in fridge. Nothing went in freezer but nothing came out either. It was a NSD.

My online food grocery order came one week sooner than expected due to who I share delivery costs with needing some groceries sooner than originally thought. So, also ordered some regularly purchased items myself.

I have also found losing weight difficult and there was a time when I thought the same about this challenge. It took ages for me to clear the space that I now have.
