Eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge - part two
Comments
-
I realised I've done my freezer inventory and I know where I am with my tins, but I've got a couple of cupboards full of dried goods, I think there are loads of different packs of dried chick peas, lentils, split peas as well as various beans, and loads of odds and ends of pasta and rice as well as various flours.
Going to empty them out and stock take today - not as cold and unpleasant as the freezer stock take
Edit: I should be able to get it down to one cupboard too, or even combine it with the tin cupboard - no wonder I can never find anywhere to put anything!!0 -
The past few days:-
In: rye bread, chicken & haggis pies
Out: sirloin steaks, lorne, tattie scones, salmon, peppercorn sauce
Used up: OOD eggs, bananas0 -
In: streaky bacon
Out: Peri peri chicken thigh, tea bags
Used up: corned beef0 -
I am pleased to say that we now have a list of everything that is in our freezers!
I don't need to go shopping for a while!0 -
Since last Sunday -
One food purchase for the store cupboard (49p food flavouring). I had been previously considering one similar, seen online x4 times dearer.
My online order is due today. Not a lot of extra purchases to add to what I already have should arrive.
On the subject of lists Moorhen, I constantly update mine and it is a useful reminder for me also.0 -
I've added a few YL bits which I don't specifically need now but were too good to pass by
:
In: Large fillet of pork (£2), chopped up and frozen in 6 good portions
2 x big free range chicken breasts (£1)
Big pack beef casserole steak (£1)
4 pack of chopped tomatoes (80p)
Out:
Whole chicken (chopped up, will do for lots of meals and nasty bits to the dogs)
Frozen left over cannelloni filling and roast new potatoes
3 sausages (for pasta bake)
Some of my huge dried red lentils stash
Some of my ridiculously huge pasta stash:o - for the cannelloni ^^ and tonight's pasta

Various chicken breasts/pork chop/hm fish cakes/mince and chips/hm mashed potatoes/carrots plus 2 hm carrot muffins/date bars and assorted peas/sweetcorn/peppers/bag of rice, baked beans/finished box of dried coconut milk powder/couscous/pasta. Getting freezers reduced a little but trying hard to lose weight so using salad stuff too.0

Out: Some of my embarrassingly large rice mountain
