Hopeless case - I suggest lots of brown sauce and worcestershire sauce to make the quorn mince more palatable along with your sauce.

    In
    nothing

    Out
    1 chicken breast
    1 cod fillet
    quiche base
    bacon

Week's menu done to use up some of my frozen cauliflower mountain, the pack of quorn mince which has been in there for years, and some of my dried bean stash, I just need to stick to it!

This will be hardest with the quorn mince as OH is a committed omnivore and I don't really like the taste/texture of it - the challenge is to turn it into a passable chilli and not just wimp out and cook something like beans on toast instead :rotfl::rotfl:

If you eat meat you could hide the quorn in beef mince.
I don't eat meat, but i make a chilli or Bolognese sauce or cottage pie, I do both a vege version and a meat version. The meat version usually has a good percentage of quorn in there and I haven't been found out yet. ( Usually the remains from the bag)

I don't really eat meat, but I don't like quorn either (I realised this after I'd bought it!), so I'd normally make a meaty chilli and then a veggie one for me with just veg and beans.

Funnily enough though I made the quorn chilli yesterday and my OH had a try and loves it, so I'll almost certainly buy some more to use for him for him - I try and only cook meat 3 times a week even for him but he would have meat at every meal so this could be a good weekday compromise :)

I was veggie for 26 years and brown sauce was my saviour when it came to cardboard quorn mince. Of course if you are not pescatarian then worcestershire sauce should not be used because it contains anchovies.

4 out of my 6 planned batch-cooked recipes have now been used up.

Recent food purchases since my last post are two food flavours and special offer (vegan) sausages. Eating a sweetened and "strange" combination of food means the approach will be savoury for a few days.

Used up/moved: Working through my rice stocks; cannelini beans, chickpeas and black eye beans soaked and boiled for use in paella/pork curry, humous and spicy black bean soup respectively (the latter 2 probably going in the freezer temporarily but progress is being made!!)
