    May I join, please?

We bought a chest freezer 4 years ago (my first one ever!) and I have been filling it ever since. I like the feeling of having food stored in there. However, I am not so good at taking it out again :( .

I do a bit of gardening, and we had a glut of courgettes the last 2 years (who didn!!!8217;t :rotfl:). I have already started with adding grated frozen courgette to all sorts of soups and sauces, so that is good.

My husband will go to his home country for a month starting halfway April, and I really want to have semi-ready meals in the freezer, as I am working fulltime and we have 2 daughters aged 6 and 9. I am basically happy with any ingredients that leave the freezer and any meals that go back in :D . I also need to defrost the freezer.

Made today from stores and freezer: strawberry jelly pudding bbd Dec17, pasta sauce with wilting celery, packet of crispy veg snack (womble from work - I do not like it as a snack), 2 slices of salami dds do not care for, 2 lumps of frozen spinach that is weirdly sweet on its own, lentils, minced beef that has been in the freezer for a few months already. Grated sheep cheese (womble from work in October , grated and frozen in small portions).

For lunch they have a friend over and we eat pancakes: end of packet of selfraising flour, same of brown eco wheat flour, end of coffee creamer, some buttermilk, UHT milk.

My mini challenge to use up (completely) 4 batch cooked recipes is still the same. Recent food purchases more preferred have slowed things down.

For lunch today I am not exactly sure what I had, but I think it was a very salty pumpkin soup, probably made and frozen two years ago. I ate one bowl and then threw away the rest, as it was soooo bitter from the salt.

Hi, I'm still around; not much to add to the usual really. The 4 batch cooked recipes from 2017 still remain the same (i.e. 4 still to have). I think these make up about 20 portions to use up before the end of the month. They are all sweet tasting and turned out okay; some from foraged blackberries and blackcurrants.

Various bits out over the last few days and nothing in (though that may change tomorrow). I need to go through my fridge and write a "use up" list so I can get a meal plan done.

Weekend shopping (food) purchases were more than usual. These were mainly "BOGOF" and "yellow-stickers".

Yesterday, used up one of my freezer mini challenge portions but more left.
