Well that will teach me to get all smug - I just went to put away the leftovers of my chilli and I'd left the ring on! The bottom had burnt but I managed to salvage one portion from the top that might just taste faintly of charcoal. Rats!0

I need to really, seriously run down my stocks. We have just offered on a house up the road (dream location but a total wreck).
To that end I got three little lamb chops out for DH tonight - I might eat one to have with lots of lovely veg and maybe some new potatoes. All already in.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

Good luck with the house offer, I hope you get it. I dread to think how much clearing out we would have to do if we ever moved. I still have almost a bedroom full of unopened boxes from our last move 12yrs ago. We seriously downsized when we came here and that was after selling most of the furniture with the house.
OUT small piece of goats cheese, 3 venison steaks, all the veg/fruit were from the fridge.
IN garlic I dug up yesterday, just enough to last the year, I froze it because I was unsure if I could get it dry enough to string. Milk see below.
I'm afraid I had to buy broccoli, cauliflower, celery and tomatoes this week with my £10. I spent the remainder on milk as I was on the last carton.0 -
Finished my mini challenge today of a £10 budget for the week and made it with 64p to spare! OH has the food shopping wallet whilst I am away this weekend so I am expecting to come back to find the budget demolished.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Florence:- brilliant and money to spare!
Suffolk Lass:- Any news on the house? We always seem to buy houses that need doing up. DIY is quite a hobby here.
OUT fish and HM Tomato soup, 4 pieces bread, all the rest came out of the fridge.

:j Our offer has been accepted. Estate Agent coming to give us an honest appraisal this afternoon at 4pm. Between cleaning, tidying and setting up for our one-course dinner party (we have main course for 6) - ooh, and collecting our currency from Sainsbobs ten miles away, busy day ahead. Off to check if my plant-lets need nurturing in the greenhouse...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Missed yesterday so yesterday and today:-
In: nothing
Out: pork ribs, honey/soy/garlic marinade, piece of rump steak
Used up: smoked sausage, spring onions
Ditched: 1/2 pkt salami found wedged down the back of a hard to reach fridge shelf - use by 05/01/17. It had gone a bit dry but smelt ok, but even me with my disregard for Use bys wasn't chancing that one.....0 -
Felt inspired today so set about the freezers. It will take longer than one day to defrost and organise them. However I emptied Freezer No 1, (into the other three) defrosted, cleaned and now restocked with mainly HM cooked meals, fruit, bread, milk and pastry. I've got rid of loads of runner beans and courgettes from last year - the hens had quite a party. I've now just emptied Freezer No 2 and I think I can confidently say I will have one completely empty freezer of 270litres. Once defrosted and cleaned it will do nicely for this years produce. Two more freezers to sort out but they will have to wait until tomorrow. phew :j
OUT old veg from last year
Cooked mince and piece of pastry to make a pie for dinner
3 sausages used at lunchtime, 3 slices bread likewise for lunch

I made some cheese and potato pasties for lunch yesterday so I've ended up with half a beaten egg left that I used for glazing them. Hubby is away for work so I'm going to add another egg, some stir fried veg, ginger, garlic and soy sauce for an oriental omelette. Yum!
I made too much of the pasty filling as well so tomorrow's task will be to use that up.0 -
In: a cornish pasty, a steak slice and a chicken slice
Out: 2 sausages, a cupasoup
Used up : end of a bag of radishes0
