Made a quorn and leek pie with pastry from the freezer and fridge bits today. Will have that for dinner with some veg and mash.
Have some puff pastry left, so might make a couple of veggie sausage rolls. Not sure what else to do with it?
Not going to shops today - infact, hopefully not shopping again this month aside from dog food. I think I have managed to meal plan accordingly.... we shall see!0 -
So pleased that I found this thread, I'm doing exactly this and trying to eat everything from the freezer, fridge and cupboards before going out to do a big shop before Christmas.
I think I still have enough of everything to create meals for another 10 days or so, and can eek out the packed lunch stuff for almost as long (I might be kidding myself there) - I haven't made a meal plan as it's just me and two kids at home and they only like plain meat and veg meals so I jazz stuff up as I go. We also eat a couple of egg and beans on toast/jacket spud meals a week so costs are kept low that way.
Loving all of the tips hereDebt:None

Not had anything out of the freezer in days... lack of time and shattered, so no cooking. Been buying some ready done things
from Wholefoods (amazing shop, anyone interested in healthy eating in London should visit!), Waitrose and M&S.. I did put back some ready prepped pineapple and picked up a whole reduced one instead for £1 but it's just taken me 20 minutes to cut it up..
Dinner tonight was a Clive's organic vegan gf pie, minty chickpea, was lovely! From Ocado. With half a M&S nutty grain salad. Was bit too much to eat at once.
Lunch was fresh cashew butter on sourdough and a clementine and the last bit of the hm victoria sponge.
Breakfast the usual granola and yoghurt with OJ.

Yes, it was from there, you must go in! There's a machine with 4 choices, peanut, peanut with salt, almond and cashew. You don't have to use the machine though as there are plenty of pots already made up of various prices at the side of the machine. I got a small pot of peanut for 90p ish and a larger pot of cashew for £2.50 ish.
Try the food/salad bar too - it's fantastic, multiple cold options, salads, vegan, veggie and meat and you mix and match what you want and pay by weight (bombay potato salad is just gorgeous). There's a hot food selection too, huge choice.
You can also weigh out your own olive oil, wine, olives/antipasti, all grains/pulses and muesli - I love the muesli bar... (you fill up your own pot from a huge selection) oh and there's bbq'd meat being cooked in there, a Mexican wrap bar where they make it up for you, a smoothie bar, hot pizza slices for £2.50 and then all the usual supermarket type sections - it just takes AGES to do my shopping in there :rotfl:
I'm going back next week lol.
I probably won't use much out the freezer again though..
Oh and take your own bag, you get 5p off then.
and rofl at the thought of standing in Waitrose feeling for teabags0
