Good news and bad news..
Good news! - Aldi super 6 includes asparagus, chestnut mushrooms, & sugar snaps!
Bad news : I didn't really need any of those things but I bought 2 packets of each. Gah!0 -
OUT
Courgette and cheese soup, HM but I can't remember exactly what went in it, all I know is that everything was from the veg plot. It tasted fine so I've decided to try and wade my way through the HM soup drawer before the next lot of vegs is ready. Should be an interesting adventure as nothing is labelled.
3 sausages and three slices of bread.
IN
uncooked Twink's hobnob dough
three quarters of the raised pie made Saturday cut into quarters
uncooked sponge cake mix, ready to go on top of steamed puddings0 -
I didn't know you could freeze uncooked sponge mix. Or do you mean the box stuff?
Out today is the last of the salmon, last of the smoked salmon, pasta and oats as well as fresh bits with normal turnover.0 -

No it's not out of a box, I found out I could freeze it by accident. I'd started to make a plain Mary Berry sponge traybake and then got a phone call so I had to dash off. I put the mix in the freezer as I knew I wouldn't be back home for ages. Once defrosted I cooked it and it was just fine, since then I've also frozen a chocolate traybake mix.
I usually freeze the mix in smaller quantities, defrost it and put it on top of jams, salted caramel, mincemeat etc to make quick individual steamed puddings. It's also a way of using up eggs when I have a surplus.0 -

Brilliant tip - thanks!
I make up big batches of crumble mix and store in plastic bags to fill the little crevices in my tetris game and then mix with frozen garden fruit for instant crumbles that take up half the space.

Hello everyone, I'm new on here but I'm keen to get to the bottom of my freezer and after a big car bill now is as good a time to start.....
I made pulled pork in the slow cooker from a shoulder of pork that was in there and DH had it for his tea tonight with some sweet potatoes found at the bottom of the fridge. The upside is that I haven't spent a penny, the down side was that it spent so long cooking, by the time it came to teatime I couldn't face the smell of it.
Anybody else experienced similar or is it just me?22 coupons until 2023

Evening all. L!dl shop stayed mostly on list with my veg seeds too... 25 packs for £5 and a good variety too. £28 spent (+ £5 on seeds). No more shopping planned now until Friday when bread, milk, cream and salad will be bought - so hopefully at least 3 NSDs to add to my Feb total this week. Next week meal plan done and not much needed to add to current stocks - just more fresh stuff.
IN: YS sausage rolls, lo mushy peas, lo stuffing, lo roast tatties (all to freezer); 2 portions of pulled pork and hm bbq sauce, 1 portion hm coleslaw, restocked fruit and veg (all to fridge), household goods restocked
OUT: instead of having another roast pork and veg tea I made pulled pork in a hm tangy bbq sauce - never made it before but it was absolutely LUSH and we will definitely have it again. Served on baguette with hm coleslaw made from bendy veg which was actually very nice too. All cupboard stuff. Eggs, cheese and ham for omelette tea tomorrow.
white-rabbit --- I very often look forward to the food I've cooked but the smell or just the making of it can also very often make me lose my appetite completely. Not good as I already suffer with malnutrition but I find my appetite is so easily annoyed!! Wish my waist measurement reflected this though. I hope you managed some of your pulled pork?0
