 Been a good one - a successful day client facing and a NSD too - can't get much better than that :D. Hospital appointment for Chest Clinic has arrived - for Wednesday morning coming . Quick shifty round with the diary required.

And now the weekend is here :j. Washing is on, bins emptied, towels changed, dishwasher on, dogs sorted, DS organised and both stuffed after a yum dinner of chinese style pork steaks, rice and veg.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked - paid myself back expenses, everything on track as it should be :)
    - Inbox Pounds - up at £14.65 (and a few searches to complete today)

Only 10 days until the next capital mortgage payment and I've pushed it back up to £900 in the budget.

In 8 weeks time I'll have been in the office for a year. A calculated risk that has paid off so far and am planning on staying there. Think it'll take me up to retirement - can't believe that's in my sights, especially if I can be rid of the mortgage in 7-8 years time and then the savings should be chunky. :)

    Happy weekend everyone :j

Rhetorical question - what do you get when you say you've got a relaxed weekend ahead of you?

Answer: a non-stop busy one :rotfl:

In town at 8.30am again because DS needs replacement stationery for school. £3 spent in Wilkos, free parking.

Home and the DIYers are working away and it's raining as per last Saturday, so floors are getting doggy paw print muddy again...a feeling of de ja vu has set in!

There is work stuff and home stuff to do, so I've turned it into a game to keep motivated and am alternating jobs.

Work - accounts gotten up to date
Home- dishwasher emptied/hand washing up done
Work - order placed for needed bits
Home - lunches prepared and muffin ingredients out..

    This afternoon it's:
Work - emails to respond to
Home - load up car with some garden stuff for the dump
Work - print bits and pieces
Home - tea breaks all round :D

And then I can think about cooking roast lamb and all the trimmings.

That should keep me out of trouble today then :rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday :)

    Evening Diary :)

My absences are getting longer from here  thankfully it's not because I'm spending, just all round busy-ness and quite a bit of reading and procrastinating on the constant OP vs saving discussion the little voice in my head has :rotfl:

Weekend continued with the garden work after I got fully caught up on everything else on Saturday. Fencing posts and gravel boards all in and done with matching coloured panels :j. Just the third side for me to paint at leisure ;). Sleepers and lights and electric bits next.

The lamb joint saw us through a yummy Saturday roast and Sunday casserole. Muffins all gone in 24 hours . Lemon cake for next weekend apparently :D

    Financials:
    - bank account checked - mortgage interest gone out
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Inbox Pounds - up at £14.98
    - Qmee - 11p earnt and in the pot

Looking at my budget, I'll have clawed back the garden spends so far after paying myself this Friday for June and upped savings a bit, which will go down again though once the patio is ordered.

I've upped the mortgage capital payment to £920 for next Monday too. I figured the worst that can happen is I need to use more of the savings pot and then I'll backfill if that happens with saving more in the autumn as I have most of the Christmas presents already. :)

A few expenses coming up in July too:

    - both dogs for groomers
    - boiler service
    - house insurance
    - architect bill - probably end of August but in July budget just in case

Oh and holiday spending money  but already got 400 Euros I think leftover from the Easter break.

A good month work wise has certainly helped and July seems quite busy too. And a lovely warm evening here, so I'm enjoying the new furniture with...a cup of tea :rotfl:

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Lovely evening here too Ali but DD2 informs me that it's cloud and rain tomoz for us :( !!

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who is procrastinating........I 've said it before......'allocation of ackers' :rotfl:!!!! It's the age old problem but at least it proves our brains are working (to some degree for me - I've had a cider :) !!)

    Hey you

Just checking in. You've been very busy but glad to see everything going in the right direction. We have both got appointments tomorrow morning. Mines luckily close to home, but work juggling is never good on a part time contract

Keep up the good work. Much love. Enjoy your mini merry go round, and the furniture... which sounds lovely. Am jealous! xxx

I like that Broggers - might rename my spreadsheet 'Allocation of 'Ackers' :rotfl: It's still called 'Budget 2006' :rotfl: with an awful lot of spreadsheets..least I can look back a long way and compare annual bills. And I do...:o....frequently...:rotfl:

'Debt Tracker 2013' ought to be renamed 'Mortgage Millstone' as that's all there is in there now :T

INOD Why's it so bloomin' hard to work out where to send the 'spare' each month? I'm reading too much on the MFW as 'mortgage neutral' has a pull...I can't get back my OPs with the current set up.

However, I like the fact I'll never have to find that extra bit I send ever again..once gone, gone for good :D Plus it won't reduce interest and savings accounts won't beat my 3.69% rate.

So it's full circle back to OPing. Ah well, Broggers you're right - it gives the brain a workout :D

  • What about splitting the spare? 1/3 to savings, 1/3 to mortgage, 1/3 to pension.. Or whatever. They won't grow as quickly but they will all still grow.. You're doing really well :)
