    Hey you!!

Just catching up - busy busy!!

DS - bless him... I had trouble with the exact same thing at school with maths. I wasn't sharpest in the class by far, and I played a bit dumb too because I hated the teacher, but I really struggled to put it on paper how I came to my answers even when they were right. I lost a lot of 'easy' marks that way. Mum got me a tutor for the last 6 weeks before my GCSE's and it helped me no end. I breezed through a C in my exams when I was predicted an E ;)

You think your dinner was late. I just finished mine

Garden stuff sounding fab. Will be amazing to sit out there once it is done. Dogs lying around the fire pit and led's lighting everything up. Nice chew free plants too ;)

Big hugs! So happy to hear tests all fine xxx

Ali, yeah sure I can be a tutor - err only about 15 years or so since I actually did any algebra. :rotfl:

I doubt I even remember how to do it - just remembered it was one of the few bits of maths I actually liked. :rotfl:

I'd forgotten about those, very good idea - think I'll get my money's worth from one, given the spends on them this year so far and likely to going forward

I was good at Algebra, Calculus etc. Pity I'm useless at "common sense" / everyday Maths though. :rotfl:

Algebra :eek::eek:... and have any of us actually used it since we left school?

I struggled with the idea that if a number is a number then why pretend it's a letter? My private tutor got me a good 'O' Level grade but I lost the plot on my 'A' level course and pulled out :o . A poor teacher with an alcohol problem didn't help (the teacher's alcohol problem not mine :rotfl:!!)

When I said 'common sense' maths, I now realise that may have sounded a bit unfair to those who are not good at it :(. I meant maths where we all understand the reason for it, whether we are good at it or not....unlike algebra possibly :) !!

I have used simple algebra a few times since :o professional studies and I used an algebraic formula I found on the web the other day to estimate the cost for DD2 to pay off her car loan :) !!

    All simple stuff!

    Evening all :D

:rotfl: at all the algebra comments - Broggers did you work it out on a 20ft wide whiteboard writing at 100 mph :D. Simple

Wish Maths was made more relative to daily life - just think how close our budgets would all be using probability of everything breaking down or percentage of life spent socialising at £x per event

Beanie - good to hear you're on the up and hope you're getting some RL support too? :)

That's a way late dinner Lilty - 11pm is more like a wake up snack to me :rotfl:

So the weekend has gone by in a flash, the fencing still isn't finished - needs one more day this coming weekend and it will be though :j Then it's the sleepers with lights and water feature - which means some extra electrics work as having an outside socket and switches :j

I was in town by 8.30am on Saturday - picked up the new house number plaque and it's fab, really pleased with it and will never need another one :) . Spent £12 in Wilkos - £2 to get a new potato masher - Springy kindly chewed mine in half  and 2 more tins of fence paint on half price offer (for the 3rd side which isn't having anything done to it but is currently a different colour). Free parking though.

Upstairs housework all got done, deliveries of the hanging basket brackets and the garden furniture came, lunches made for everyone and then a spend of £33 at the Reflexologist. A bit of work stuff on my return then cooked a roast gammon dinner. Cleared up and sat looking at horrendous muddy floors from the dogs going in and out in the rain to the garden all day

Yesterday was slightly more relaxed, downstairs housework got done, clothes got put away from the airers and I had a NSD finally :T Muddy floors no more :D

Tonight I've made a batch chilli, so a portion for tea and several more for the freezer. Living on salads for lunch still, a home made GF pasta one today with lashings of mayo and LO chicken from yesterday :o

    Financials:
    - bank account checked - few bills gone out today including the lower council tax amount, monthly use and pay off CC amount and child benefit came in
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Inbox Pounds up a tad at £14.48
    - Qmee - a bit more with 76p now in the pot
    - P!necone - £3 due in PayPal any day

The Club Lloyds freebie has come up for renewal too, so I'm going to choose a magazine subscription. Been years and years since I brought one, so this will be a major treat. It's all Harpers and Queen, Red, Cosmo though..I'd be quite happy with Woman - more fitting with my budget and lifestyle :D

Tomorrow morning something very exciting is happening. I've an architect visiting to look at the prospect of an extension over the current ground floor single storey part of the house (original design/build) to enlarge 2 bedrooms and add an en suite. It's been a 'want' for years and isn't a 'need'. Will see what happens :j.

It won't destroy the OPs though :D...and at the moment I've amended it to £870 for July and unless an unforseen large expense comes along, think that will stick :T

Hope everyone has had a good start to the week :)

    Evening Diary :)

What a gorgeous sunny day today and DIY mate built the flat pack garden furniture so I was able to enjoy sitting out on that this evening :j and came home to see the new house number plaque up too :j. I am spoilt with his help :)

Architect visited first thing - looks unlikely I will get the whole upper extension I'd like though she's gone away to quote for doing the work to take it to pre-planning advice stage (council have formalised giving advice with an attached fee). I'll see what the costs are and then make a decision whether it'd be worth moving on it - the bit she thinks I would get is only 5'6 x 8' and wouldn't achieve what I want.

All things are for a reason and it'd save alot of money not doing one, so a silver lining to it in that respect. On the other hand, when it comes to selling, it'll be much harder - all houses are now built with en suites and a 4 bed detached without one isn't desirable. We'll see what pans out as the days/weeks go by. Not in a rush either as they'll be some serious saving to do to pay for it after the garden is all paid for and finished.

What is great is having options :j and I don't mean borrowing money ones :D

Email in today from returning the swimming cossie and a refund on the way :T also Noddle free credit report update was in, so checked that and all good - nice to see the mortgage figure up to date :)

    Financials:
    - bank accounts checked - another 5p interest added to the matured regular saver. Must check the ISA as that will have some too :D
    - freepostcodelottery checked - my bonus is up at £5.70
    - Inbox Pounds - a tad up at £14.54
    - Qmee - still 76p in the pot

Work is nice and steady, was hoping to squish more in early in this month so I could skive some afternoons off to watch Wimbledon on tv :rotfl:

Hope all is going well for everyone :)

    Evening Diary,

Shock and horror Wimbledon doesn't start until 29th June  That's very late this year so I'll be looking at my work diary again and seeing how much tv time I'll get :D

Having said that, the architect has come back with the breakdown of stages and costs - £295 for detailed drawings and all the bits needed for pre-planning (which are much the same as the planning app requirements to get the best advice and recs from the planning officer). So I am going to go with that first stage which will push me on with work to earn the extra to pay for it :D.

Done the food shop tonight as cupboards and fridge were very bare and meal plan was falling apart. New one done and I shopped to that including ingredients for a batch of the Triple Choc Chunk Muffins and feeding the weekend DIYers - spent £24.58. Not too shabby.

    Financials then:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Inbox Pounds at £14.60
    - Qmee still at 76p
    - Got the £3 from P!necone in PP waiting to move to bank account

Tomorrow I've got an Admin day to catch up on lots of stuff and lunch with a friend for her birthday - we're using a 30% off voucher :T. Might get a swim in too and I'm chipping away at DS joining me, so that'll be an evening activity.

I'm plodding along on the health front, some of the weird feelings I had are back with blinding headaches that are managed with ibruprofen so will monitor those. I've been good on going steady and relaxing, not rushing. All a bit mysterious unless it's another symptom of hormones leaving me.

Slowly catching up around diaries and even more slowly doing anything about decluttering - but can see I need to. Been 18 months since the last major one and stuff seems to appear from nowhere.

Evening Diary and what a glorious one it is here - been sat out on the garden furniture again, got to make sure I get my money's worth, even if the garden view is still just a cement mixer and a few old slabs holding a tarpaulin down :rotfl:

Found the old patio table/chairs cover and am using that for this furniture. Either I've grown up or there's something to be said for looking after things more because they've been saved up for :)

Had a lovely lunch with friend and paid for that as her birthday pressie, was great to catch up and not have to keep an eye on time to get back or anything.

Made the most of the weather by changing beds/doing washing and getting that out on the line this morning. Useful to have worked at home and flit between housey tasks and admin.

Financials - nothing new to report on those, though got another preliminary survey in from P!necone so fingers crossed for another £3 one to follow.

End of the week again tomorrow - the week has flown by  Hoping for a more leisurely weekend than last week, no appointments, no spends, just housey stuff and cooking :)
