Hmm, that is interesting Lilt. I'm always chasing the moment I can sit down and relax with nothing bugging me to be done. Maybe that's it?
Arrived at my friends...to a text she needed to cancel. Had a quick chat then back home and got 2 more of the fence panels painted. Slowly getting there - only 5 more to do
Just had a bowl of cornflakes, that's my lot now until after the blood test tomorrow. Will sneak in a cup of tea in a moment and hit bed just after DS goes up at 10pm. Am yawning, will sleep well. One problem I don't have thankfully.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Evening Diary,
Been an interesting day - I've started making time for the stuff I need/want to do on the health front :j and managed to do most of the work I wanted to do too...still some outstanding but not a problem.
D@ligas came good with the year's bill, a mega surprise that the refund due to arrive in my bank account Friday is for £110. 66 :j My monthly DD last year was £54.48 - down from £76 with BG. Some due to cheaper pricing, some due to being frugal with the heating and some due to not being at home so much since having the office. Very happy in the end.
I wrote a new list of things to do once home....
- put a washing load on
- colour hair
- 20 mins/7km on bike whilst it developed
- rinse off colour etc.
- hang washing out. 3 jobs jobbed efficiently
I've sprung into action on the swimming front and how times have changed - shops now sell longer length one piece swimming costumes - well I never knew that! So with a leftover Xmas voucher for £25 in hand, I went online and bought one - 30% discount, free delivery and total cost £5.60 :T. Great reviews so hopefully it'll fit and feel nice and I'll be in that pool soon (with my discount leisure card for 10% off)
DS came home not feeling too well, but he's eaten dinner so hopefully it is just a combination of heat/PE/afternoon lull.
Tonight is...drum roll...painting some more fence panels :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

Evening Dairy and welcome to the weekend :j:j
Forgot to add yesterday that our council are subsidising compost bins, so I've ordered one - a 220 litre for £10 + delivery. Figured can make space for it out of sight and it'd be great to have decent material to add to our awful soil for the plants I shall eventually have.
I also painted 3 more fence panels finishing just before dusk - just 2 left to go and hope to do those tonight after exercise bike and getting washing on. It's lovely and sunny and warm here, after the heavy morning showers (no thunder and lightening - is it wrong to be disappointed about that?!)
D@ligas refund duly arrived in bank account this morning - all £110.66 of it
Tax return and Accountant's set of accounts signed off and submitted. I have what feels like a large tax bill to pay, but the money is sat there and ready to go - my spreadsheet calcs were once again close by a £50 over-estimate. :T All done for another year nice and early :T. I earnt £210+ in bank account interest last year too, not to be sniffed at.
I think I've fully caught up with work as well :j For the moment anyway :rotfl:.
Salad for lunch, salad for dinner. Strawberries from a friends garden for dessert - all very healthy, except the extra thick pot of cream she gave me to have with them :rotfl:. I'll work that off hopefully
Hope everyone is doing ok and a sunny and frugal weekend shines on us allBack on the DFW Wagon:

Well done on getting your accounts, tax return and tax payment all sorted so early!!! And was that £210 earned partially from your tax piling up waiting to be paid?
one good thing about being SE you see... I don't get to keep my tax around earning interest before I give it up
Yum for the strawberries and cream. Sounds like heaven!! Hope you've got some protein with your salad Mrs
Amazing refund from dali:D I got £12.80 on top of the £80 Npoop paid me last year
not to be sniffed at either!
I am so glad you made time for some of your wants, and set it out strategically. I know how you love a plan so I think this could be a winning formula and a way to relieve some pressure from youand still get some *me time*
Big hugs!! xx

I absolutely love thunder and lightning. It's like the weather and the whole world is getting into gear. The smell of the garden before and then after the downpour............I think it's something a bit Pagan
!! Don't care.......love it

Thunder and lightening terrify me but I love a really blowy day. Ali, I'm finally de-cloaking to say hello :hello:
I've enjoyed reading your updates and think your garden project sounds great. We moved into a new build house last year and don't have a clue what we want to do with the garden and the front patch of grass. We have some plants in pots scattered around & hanging baskets at the moment.
Your stories about your "post dog" also made me laugh - the most exciting thing my cats do is play fetch with a foam ball and even then half the time they just give me a dirty look. Dogs win on the enthusiasm front paws down. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Lilt - Tax return would have been in even earlier had I not had to wait for the D@ligas bill, as a portion of it was 'Home as Office' expense before I moved last summer. And yep, £64 interest from the tax/ni saved account
, the rest mostly the Club Lloyds 4% on £5k and a tad on the old Easy Saver (16p
).
Hard boiled egg, quiche and left over ham with the salad though I'm just back from the food shop and bought chicken to go with more salad :rotfl:. Home grown strawberries are just so sweet, a few left for tomorrow
Good return from Npoop :rotfl: too :T. A total surprise on my refund, as I'd been monitoring the gas use from Oct 13 to Mar 14 before I transferred to them and thought I'd calculated it fairly tightly. Nice little extra especially with the garden costing alot.
I tend to do well with planning as always seems to be so much to do and can cut through a pretty long list if I work it out rightCan't wait for cossie to arrive, pool is 200 yards down the road and the varied timetable means I can fit around work quite easily.
Broggers - Something mysterious and magical about thunder and lightening, so right on the air and smells too. Springer always wants to go outside and investigate it though :rotfl: Doodle bug hides bless her. INOD did you have the blowy days we had at the start of the week here?
Food shop came in at £25.36, that's better as still includes some foods for garden DIYers here this weekend.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Hiya
Thanks for posting. It's funny that the dogs have really dictated the garden re-vamp as the grass disappeared to a bumpy mud patch and any new plants were dug out and brought in by them . Love hanging baskets, bet they look fab :j Can't wait to get some brackets drilled into the concrete posts so I'll have some extra too.
I did quite a bit of googling for our garden shape and the direction it faced too. Tons of images on line, perhaps have a look and see what you like? Always wanted a new build, bet it's lovely to have everything brand new. Have you got a good sized garden, they all seem so small in this area.

Another mortgage post with plenty of figures
Interest letter has arrived so here we go with the reductions:
This month it's £365.30 - was £367.71 - down £2.41 on last month and down £45.04 per month since 31/12/13 (was £410.34).
Brings daily interest down by 8p, from £12.10 to £12.02. Sooo close to going into the £11's.
Means the actual OP amount in the capital payment was £112.89 for June. An adjustment of 1p :rotfl:. Pedant or what, the spreadsheet never lies :rotfl:
Total capital paid to date: £14,674 of which £3,068.24 is OPs :T
Finished painting the remaining fence panels this morning, off for a shower now and then to the office. Morning flown by with some housey stuff crammed in too.
Happy sunny Saturday allBack on the DFW Wagon:
