    Evening Diary

Busy couple of days and tiredness has meant naps between work and dinner, making the evening shorter. Had to make time to go back to Sbugs for a 35p bottle of Basics tomato sauce, but got the 1500 points added to my card taking it to £43.80 in value :D.

Tried on the longer length swimming cossie - oh dear, bustline was still a good inch below mine :rotfl:, so that's been returned (freepost thankfully). So money back to the voucher I expect.

Got a P!necone survey in to do by Friday which will be another £3 to the cause :)

Sorted a few July birthdays with writing cards I'd already got and all June ones now gone. Only one stamp needed as sending the others with family who are going to visit next week.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked - Reg Saver should get its annual interest tomorrow. Excited :j
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Inbox Pounds up at £14.08
    - Qmee - a bit more and pot up at 60p

I've been a bit naughty and ordered a bench and chair set for the new garden :o. Been looking around online and with sales on, got it half price and it'll be delivered on Saturday. DIYer has ordered the LED lights for the sleepers with his discount so a bit of a saving there too.

Biggest news - DS has tidied his stuff up :T Albeit it into piles rather than scattered everywhere :rotfl:. It's progress though :D

Hi Ali. Jus catching up - went swimming last night and for some reason I've woken and can't get back to sleep - chlorine? Anyways, I've had the same problem finding a costume - why are they all so short. In the end I got out my old bikini (it's not a skimpy one) which I got from Boots ages ago. It was a size big when I bought it but it's perfect now. Might be worth a try.

I'm keeping track of your garden progess. Sounds wonderful and I think the bench set will help you enjoy it. Great to get it before the summer and in the sale! Well done :).

Ooo I do love to hear about your mortgage measurements, very inspirational. I haven't quite got my head round mine yet, but it's coming down so that the main thing.
I have the same problems with swimsuits, and I feel to old for a bikini now, too much of a mummy tummy! But I did find a tankini a couple of years ago which is a good compromise.

    Good morning :D

Good to know I'm not alone in the swimming costume stakes :D - back to bikini for me too and I went to the pool yesterday for a good swim in that :j Hold the stomach in around the pool, let it out under water :rotfl:

Saw GP yesterday - all my test results are clear, including the fasting sugar one :j. Must have been my home-made muffin/eating before the blood tests :rotfl:. So we're back to chronic stress and hormones as the cause, though I think I have lowered stress quite a bit but lots more I need to do. 3 items ongoing on prescription - yet to change that up - will cost £24.60

Food shop done last night - £34.05 spent with extras again as the DIYers are here at the weekend.

Garden accessories have been bought too - I said I wouldn't do that this year, but as it should be finished before summer ends I know I'm going to want a few bits so have bitten the bullet on it.

Special concrete post hanging basket brackets and supports - £19.99 for 4 and a firepit-!!!-BBQ - £29.99. Which just leaves any plants I need to buy, beyond the materials still left to get.

Interest has now been added to the matured 4% Regular Saver - £67.46. It's been auto-converted to an Easy Saver at the massive rate of 0.5% interest gross PA :rotfl: Total £4,017.46

    Financials then:
    - bank account checked - hitting the mid month lull, not much to report
    - freepostcodelottery still being checked
    - Inbox Pounds - £14.14 (can see this taking a whole year to get to £20 this time :rotfl:)
    - Qmee still at 60p

Completed the P!necone survey, so £3 on it's way to me.

It's end of year school exam time for DS and he's very anxious about his Maths so tears before bedtime last night :( I've emailed his Maths teacher advising her and asked both to try and meet today for 10 mins. I'm pretty sure it's the Aspie angle - he can come to the answer, but how he gets there he doesn't know and he doesn't understand the workings out. These tests affect which sets they are in next year and he wants to stay in Top set, so we'll see what transpires. If school can't/won't help, I'll have to look at getting a private tutor for a few sessions I think. His education is important and I won't hesitate to use intended mortgage OPs for this :)

Time to hit work - Happy Friday all :)

Honestly........you ladies worrying about your tummies and things. You are all absolutely beautiful so for gawds sake lighten up the lot of you :p !!

Ali....you must be on 'Cloud 9' after worrying us all the other day......that's fantastic news  !!!!

If it's hormones that's because you're a girl and if it's stress then just chill - you are allowed to because you are soooo in control . Sound's like out the back is a good place to start.......you can barbecue a chicken leg while you're at it :D

I had private maths tuition when I was a teenager too. I dreaded it but it did help. I seem to be pretty good at 'common sense maths' now and I think you are too  !!

Have a lovely day and weekie :)

It's 'look good - feel good' or 'think we look bad - feel rubbish' Broggers :D. We're sensitive souls us ladies ;)

You calling my garden the outback? :rotfl: See, hormones do funny things or lack of them :rotfl: Looking forward to working out how to use the firepit, got to get it going first...do we go wood, charcoal briquettes or something else. I will try not to smoke the house out though  so positioning it in the garden will be key - think the deck and artificial grass will be flammable, so not there...middle of the patio is sounding favourite at the moment. :)

Had a lovely reply from his Maths teacher - he's solid in his set and highly unlikely to move down. She's going to speak to him and help, which is great. That'll boost his confidence no end I hope.

I'm all for a bit of extra 1-2-1 tuition if he needs it, particularly with his Aspie side, he does seem to process things differently, not hear things at all or 'just knows the answer'. They have a great team of Learning Mentors so we will be able to dip into that resource as first port of call I think. :)

Back to work for me :)

    :j at clear test results.

 at swimming costumes & bikinis. Though to be fair I think everyone is worrying so much about what they look like that they don't really register anyone else.

I do like the plan of holding your stomach in around the pool and letting it out under water though. :rotfl: Need to get back into swimming regularly, DH loves it and it's excellent exercise but I'm not a strong swimmer and feel self-conscious in the swimming costume/bikini - speaking of bikinis they are generally a bad idea for me as they fall down a lot. :o:eek:

Sorry to hear about DS worrying about his maths, so good that the teacher is willing to help. I hated maths when I was doing the higher at 16 and just couldn't get my head around certain concepts but quite enjoyed algebra for some reason. I used to get my friend who was good at maths to do my homework. Unfortunately the teacher knew it wasn't me doing it because it was too good. :rotfl: I did actually get a C in the end somehow, must have known more than I thought :rotfl:

Firepit BBQ sounds pretty cool. :T

I'd forgotten about those, very good idea - think I'll get my money's worth from one, given the spends on them this year so far and likely to going forward

Hope you're getting on ok too :)

Sashybo - I have similar problems with bikinis - have to check every length or so that the top is still in place :rotfl:. I've got to build up the lengths - used to easily do 35-40 - did 15 yesterday and worn out :o Rome wasn't built in a day :)

DS is a happy bunny tonight - he met the teacher and all sorted. Algebra is my downfall (especially algebraic fractions ) and where DS is struggling - want to be his tutor? :rotfl: We only got homework if we hadn't finished the chapter in class - mostly copied off the board and didn't listen to the teacher. How I passed my O level I'll never know...must have had alot of questions on 24 hour clock and percentages :D

Like Broggers, common sense or usable Maths I am fine with too. The worst bit of it all, is DS is working at GCSE level, so these papers are previous exams but the course and exams change from September, so I don't even know how much will be relevant to the new syllabus.

    Dinner ready..late one tonight :)
