The march to financial freedom

Now there's an idea..he lives quite local too :rotfl:
Today over and done with, tomorrow to go and Saturday not required, so the weekend off to concentrate on home stuff and pay myself for the month :j
DS got his Maths result - a Grade C1 and was 10 marks away from a B. Really pleased for him given his stress over it. He's got his GCSE options through too - one change due to over-subscribed in Computing - so he's doing Triple Science, History, Drama and one of his back up choices - Geography. Bit worried that will be expensive with field trips . He's just delighted no more languages :rotfl: even though it's a good one to take, it's not his forte.
Financials:
- bank account checked - am £46.47 better off after realising I'd input D@ligas twice for June but offset by DS buying game bits on Steam and the use and pay off monthly CC gone up. DS has paid me but it's gone in the 'housekeeping' pot
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Inbox Pounds - to do
- there's a P!necone survey in to do for £3 as well :T
- ISA checked - interest of 54p added. It's a small pot but all free money welcomed to increase it
- A NSD
Food shop yet to do, before that, need to find a lemon cake recipe so I know what ingredients to buy. And write a meal plan. And empty the dishwasher. And walk the dogs. We have had dinner outside again though :j
Just realised it's July next week - how did that happen :eek:Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
Bit worried that will be expensive with field trips .
My DDs took/taking geography to A level. Expensive field trips??? Oh yes indeedy - between them: Kenya, Uganda, New York and Iceland. DD1 took a geography degree and field trips went to Vancouver and Patagonia. I had a trip the the Lake District and at University we went to Holland and thought that was pretty special:eek::rotfl:
Well done on the maths result!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Yikes Ig at those trips . I'm hoping they're no further afield than the ones my nephew did for his A level - a Scottish Isle and Cornwall
Just seen his school transport letter - that's going up by £2 a week again - from £8, to £10 this year to £12 next year . Still cheaper than public transport, so I'll get those figures into the budget and suck it up.
Bumped into one of his old school friend's parents in A!di tonight, great to catch up and then realise we're talking about young men, not the 9 year olds they once were
So food shop done and the NSD blown - £31.92. Didn't need much for the lemon cake, lunches/evening meal extras bought for the garden DIYers who will be here all weekend again and kitchen freezer reasonably stocked. Garage one is pretty empty. Need to make a batch spag bol at some point and go on a YS meat hunt, as we'll be using the last joint this weekend and I've a feeling they'll be at least another few weekends garden work, plus a whole week in July. Didn't factor food into the garden budget though :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

I suspect DS will only want to go on one if there's wi-fi, the speed is good and there's a multi-channel tv in a hotel room :rotfl:.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Walking before I run aka save before I spend is the motto I live to...except the really big stuff. And therein lies another question - should the big stuff be saved for too? Do I just follow the accepted practise of loans for those things?
Ahh...brain buzzing again now :rotfl:

Gorgeous day today so made best use of the garden furniture and sat out in it, directing the DIYers whilst watching the washing dry :rotfl:. They now have the base and rods in place for the sleepers to go on to :j . A few smaller jobs done too with basket brackets up - can see things coming together now and will need to order the new patio and setts fairly soon and make final decision on border shape - curved, but how curved in what places is the question.
Made a Mary Berry Lemon Drizzle Cake which I was really chuffed with - very light, fluffy and moist - very easy too. A small bit left, so will make a different lemon one tomorrow. Possibly cup cakes, as DS only likes chocolate cake, so 2 half batches coming up.
Got minimal housey jobs done, a bit of garden shrub pruning (the ones that were left in situ and unaffected by the works) - still more to do and the second coat of paint needed on the panels I did last week. But today was about chilling out as far as possible.
Enjoyed our YS roast beef dinner (but really was salad weather) and will make a casserole with the rest tomorrow.
Paid myself today as well, just need to wrap up accounts for the month, print, reconcile receipts/expenses and file.
Budget all set for July and mortgage payment still set at £920 to go on Monday :T
