Good evening Diary,
Good news as the meds are working on the dizziness. I did my hopi candles again last night - warming and relaxing, but have run out now so need to order some more of those.
Work was good, that's the last long day before Christmas now, so I've decided to just go in and do what I need to then come home and rest, effectively going part-time up to my break. Non-essential stuff can wait until I feel better.
Having a bit of a stressful time with DS and school at the moment following a teacher issue. DS is sensitive and a perceived injustice doesn't help things. Emails have flown back and forth without resolution, so I'm trying to organise to go in at some point. Will be January now I expect. On the upside, his poem reading for the Christmas assembly infront of 600 people went really well this afternoon.
Had a No Spend Day today but need to do the weekly food shop - that looks like tomorrow at some point (possibly daytime to get it out of the way rather than eve).

Sorry for DS. This is such a long term, I would be shocked if there were no end of term problems. Hope a good rest sorts it. Ss1 k xxOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Tell DS not to worry about teachers, particularly when he's doing so well. We all had teacher problems didn't we? Well.......I did and mine did!!

Evening Diary
Having felt unwell all day, tonight the brain fog/vertigo has lifted and I actually feel normal (except for the vision) for the first time in a week :j:j My neck isn't grinding either so I think those pills are working.
Quite a few spends to report:
- 10 pairs of hopi candles - £10.95
- Dental check up £27 with a hygienist appointment booked for end of February. Clean bill of health for DS and I otherwise
- Food shop done, hoorah, back to under £20 at £19.23. Both freezers are full up, I've all the ingredients for making more batches of chilli, spag bol and cottage pies and there's 3 turkey curries from the weekend's turkey in there.
A short work day and the same tomorrow, handy as DS finishes school at lunchtime and I'll be home when he gets in too. I am working Saturday - it's been in the diary for ages but Monday's work has moved out to January so I'll still get a 2 day weekend with the bonus of a lay in Monday :j
Nothing new to report on the financials, I'm playing around with next month's budget and think I'll be sending a mortgage capital payment of £750 - lower than I'd like but it's still a £100 overpayment and the washing machine (£400) has eaten into the emergency fund.
Fingers crossed I'm getting better and the Christmas break is getting nearer.Back on the DFW Wagon:

as a confirmed subscribed lurker to this thread it is a great relief to read you are feeling better. long may that continue. I think what you have/are achieving is incredible but was worried you were doing at the expense of your long term health. enjoy your Christmas holiday.

Thanks eco - I too hope it's a long term improvement and not a temporary good patch, so difficult to know as there's no real pattern to it.
It's been an incredibly busy year, the office move meant I didn't have a break or proper rest in the summer - looking back, it was February when I last chilled out (decorating in the Easter and May breaks).
Definitely taking regularly weeks off next year and resting. Taking longer to do stuff is better than making myself ill and ending up battling through the working week. Lesson learnt I thinkBack on the DFW Wagon:

I'm slowly "getting it" - if I'm ill nothing gets done and everything stops. If I'm well but slower things still get done and the wheels keep turning.
So today I was just at work this morning and got the business banking done before DS arrived home. This afternoon I had a lovely nap which was definitely welcome and boosted energy, enough to get on with some housey stuff, so washing, bins, hand washing up and towels all done. Airer in use, cutting down the TD use from the past couple of weeks.
Dinner was chilli - the last of the batch.
Feeling quite well again today but no rushing aroundGot some tidying up still to do, but nothing major. Everything is also now cleared, cleaned and put away from last weekend - the last of the cutlery boxed back up, dinner service plates etc. Had to wait for some of that to come out of the dishwasher last night.
Financials then:
- bank account checked
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Nectar - no movement
- Inbox Pounds - £3.09
- Qmee - still 61p
After the food shop last night, I've swapped some of the freezer goodies around and made them more organised. Would have been the ideal time to do an inventorya job for over Christmas. Here we go - holiday list being formed already :rotfl:
Work tomorrow and all prepared for that so tonight I'll just be pottering and chilling out. Sunday and Monday will be my real weekend, Tuesday last half day in the office and then a lovely run of 13 days off
Happy weekend allBack on the DFW Wagon:
