Ooh what have I been missing?
I've earnt my ackers for this week
and the weekend is here :j
P!necone has sent me 5 surveys in the last week - 2 of which I'd done during the week, 3 arrived last night and I've just done those too - so £15 of free money in total from those :j
All the DIY jobs are now complete - porch roof has been lifted, old clematis bits removed and tiles replaced, plus new lead flashing. Kitchen, utility and garage are all now fully insulated, as well as quite a few smaller jobs. Still got a problem with the new taps in the bathroom and kitchen though - the pressure is low so may have to replace those again.
Talking of replacements the noisy washing machine is bearings gone and with it giving me very wet clothes and the electronic panel playing up too, it's time to replace it after 9 years. So I've ordered a new one via £co for cashback and it's going to be delivered and installed on Sunday 21st December. £400 spent, but that's what the emergency fund is for and needs must. It's an A+++ and 9kg load, so should help on lowering the number of loads (current on is 6kg) and the electric bill.
Financials then:
- bank account has been checked daily. A TT today of £4.05 to savings, total there is £50.91
- freepostcodelottery checked
- Nectar - not done anything at all here, except spend £20 in points last night. Card value is now @ £27 I think
- Inbox Pounds - I've kept up the little daily things and that stands at £2.82
- Qmee - 45p still in the pot
I'm still not well either - more visual migraines today. I'm drinking more water, eating plenty of fruit and veg, resting when I can and the DIYers have been making me cups of decaf tea when I've got home from work.
Help is on hand for the big lunch on Sunday - DS on furniture moving and table setting up, friends with veg prep, DB/SIL here early Sunday before everyone else. I've borrowed 4 extra chairs too (thanks INOD for the idea).
I'll do the business banking first thing tomorrow as was a late finish tonight, I've started on housey stuff with bins, towels, washing and tidying up.
My early night is slipping away but no alarm clock needed tomorrow so I shall just sleep as long as I need.
Happy weekend everyone and 7 working days til my break :jBack on the DFW Wagon:

Glad to hear your DIY jobs are now complete for the year, if only I could say the same about mine. Hope you have a nice weekend and get well soon.
At the risk of sounding like a real bore, I absolutely recommend Miele appliances. Some of their washing machines come with a 10 year guarantee and they are apparently tested to last in excess of 20 years. Definitely worth the extra initial cost.
Just to redress the balance a bit, I think one of these is also calling, now the sports car has gone:
Probably one of the best sounding cars to ever grace our roads, the roof comes off, rear seat and being a girl you can get away with that colour.2018 totals:

this is not Money Spending Expert you know :rotfl: Look away from the keyboard Ali, look away.....:rotfl::rotfl:
I've not gone for a Miele either, but another silver matching one to the TD, so it's a Hotpoint Ultima S-Line or something on it's way.
Delighted with all the DIY jobs that have been done - there were some spends along the way but mostly small ones like £7 for the door bar and £15 for something for the roof today, garden excepted. Mostly it was dinners where the YS meat and batch meal stocks came in handy.. Pleased with how that's all panned out.

Money Spending Expert ... now there's an idea.
Seriously, with the potential of depreciation free motoring, I've got money saving covered.
Hope the new washing machine serves you well, realised you'd ordered it only after I'd posted my recommendation. A reminder to not skim read.
It's just dawned on me that TD meant tumble dryer, too many abbreviations on this site.:rotfl:

Money Spending Expert sounds great. I boosted my Tesco Points yesterday and also took advantage of the £20 off a £100 spend for an Apple Xmas pressie for DD. Then went for an eye test and need new glasses - so have chosen for DD to approve the style.
I could get used to this kind of MSE
ps I would love the purple car - Ali you could sell it to me when DD passes her test in a couple of years.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Ali I got a new machine recently and best bit is that washing comes out almost dry. I love it5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

MiT, I reckon mine's been on the blink for probably a year or longer - the wetter clothes just seems to creep up, but definitely this summer I noticed it and the towels take an age to dry (or like this morning over an hour in the tumble dryer so I could put straight away). The noise is fairly recent and I'd rather change it now than wait until it breaks down and be stuck for getting washing done.
Having a tea break and opening Christmas cards that have sat on the coffee table since last weekend  And DS's bus bill for next term has landed - another spend of £46.40 and it's going up to £10 a week after February half term. Then it's back to the chores. Think if I do it in blocks like this and stop frequently, it'll get done without overwhelming me. All I really want to do is put my feet up though :rotfl::rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

My DS missed his bus to school yeaterday and school is in the middle of a village out in the stick. If he doesn't get the bus then I need to run him in. Yesterday though I had an early meeting so I just told him to stay off but I then made him hoover and dust whole house :rotfl:5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
