Evening Ali, I've come out of long time lurkdom to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas! I'm still reading your diary every morning, I just don't post anymore......I just had to reset my password as it's been so long I'd forgotten it!
Glad you have had such a frugal/MSE few months, I really admire your determination! I hope your Mum feels better soon and that you all enjoy the next few days.
Much love,

:rotfl::rotfl: Noooo Alex, savings aren't for spending...especially on cars, since I can't drive very far and have a 9 month old one sitting doing not alot on my driveway at the moment . Still, have hardly used any fuel so guess that's the bonus.
Cousin is speaking to the Neuros at her workplace to find out who'd be best to get referred to, so that ball is already rolling. Hopefully GP will agree to it as they have to do the letter. I'll have a name and fax number by tomorrow.
You could buy one for me instead ... I'll even send a monthly photograph with it's new found friends.Alex's Triumph Sanctuary, has a ring to it, don't you think?
ETA: Thought I'd finished this before submitting.
Anyhow, good luck with the hospital and I hope your mother recovers well. Have a great Christmas.2018 totals:

Wow, lots of lovely messages - thank you all for the good wishes for my Mum too. Am fingers crossed she'll get better and be well enough to enjoy Christmas Day.
This is the longest break from work I've had since August 2013  Not sure what I'll do with myself but plenty of MSE things to be done - tidying drawers and wardrobes in our bedrooms, freezer inventories, a de-clutter of my home study and a Cupcake jigsaw puzzle that was meant to be a present but I couldn't bring myself to part with it :rotfl: Was about £4 in Ald! - good value for keeping me entertained for a good few days I think
Me too SS - need to get back on the 'buying to meal plan', partly as the cupboards and freezer are full up!
Molly - it's lovely to 'see' you and hope all is going well in the Mischief householdHave a wonderful Christmas too
Skinny - Likewise, you've paid off a huge amount this year, so very well done and I reckon we'll both hit debt freedom in 2015. Shall be celebrating with a gifted bottle of wine or more likely, a cup of tea for me, a Skinny Latte for you
Alex - you're so naughty :rotfl: A car sanctuary - I bet that idea has legs in some shape or form...my business brain is hunting the opportunity
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas...I'll still be here daily, including Christmas Day - there's Nectar searches and surveys to do when the tv gets pants :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

Happy Christmas everyone and hope you've all had a lovely day.
Yesterday I took DS into town for our annual hot chocs with all the trimmings - it was busier than previous years but think the sales starting yesterday had alot to do with that. Spends were limited to £2 for parking, £5.05 for drinks and we got DS's new school bag - £14.99.
Friends over last night so the last of the mince pies and chocolate log were consumed, not a problem as the amount of chocolates and biscuits we had as presents today should see us through to the summer :rotfl: DS has started on his own 'Choc Fest'
Mum made it to lunch and we've had a lovely day. Bonus of a teenager was the sleeping in, so presents opened this afternoon. Bacon sarnies for breakfast and the dogs had a field day with new toys and treats.
A lovely relaxed day and with few commitments over the next 11 days, I should be able to catch up on lots of little things I'd like to get done.
Snow forecast here tomorrow later on - will enjoy watching that fall from indoors and don't think it's due to lay. The perfect Christmas really.
Good luck to anyone braving the sales, I'll be having a rummage in my own wardrobes to re-sort my clothes, so hopefully will find a few things that I haven't worn in an age and it'll feel like having a few new bits.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Ali, I'm quite particular about the cars that reside at my sanctuary. :rotfl:
Glad you've had a nice Christmas and pleased to hear your mother made it to lunch.
I've just checked the weather here after your snow warning, apparently we have an "amber" weather warning. This can only mean one thing ... the Landies come out to play.2018 totals:

Glad you had a lovely day Ali. We had a lovely walk around the hills, relaxing day with dinner at the outlaws. All full up now and I never want to see a chocolate or mince pie ever again:silenced:

:rotfl: There is no doubt your car sanctuary choices would be very carefully selected Alex.
Hope the Landie AND sledging with Little K are on your agenda if the snow arrives and settles. Double fun
Great to read you had a good day too yesterday.supersaver1000 wrote: »Glad you had a lovely day Ali. We had a lovely walk around the hills, relaxing day with dinner at the outlaws. All full up now and I never want to see a chocolate or mince pie ever again:silenced:

:rotfl: Sounds like the food should have been before the walk! Sounds fab to have gotten out, only managed a quick trip over the field with the dogs yesterday. They'll get a belated Xmas treat when DB brings his lab and we head for a 7-10 mile trek next week :eek:Back on the DFW Wagon:

A lovely relaxing Boxing Day so far with absolutely nothing planned or *need* to do.
I was good last night, putting away all the presents I could and taking packaging off - Mum always puts thermal socks, cotton socks, tea towels, face cream (now on the anti-sagging and age spot prevention stuff :rotfl:) and similar items in my Christmas bag, so they're all sorted and we've a clear house. Not even any dishes to wash up!
I've made a list - I know, didn't last long not having one :rotfl: It has 17 items on it, but I've 11 days to do them in and so my goal is to try and do 2 per day. Some are bigger than others and will take more time, some are quick and a fair few are routine things.
Today is 1) bedding changes and 2) hoovering upstairs. I've changed my bedding and that's in the new washing machine which is working well. Want to do the spare bedroom bedding too as though it's not been slept in, it's had all the Christmas bags on and the dogs managed to get up on it as well .
I'll do DS's bedding today too if I can get him out of it first :rotfl: Not looking likely at this stage but the smell of lunch might change that
My fridge is accumulating water and overflowing onto the salad crisper shelf - it's been doing it for a couple of weeks now and alongside the freezer doing it's own thing (seems to be randomly super freezing), I am wondering if that's going to need replacing pretty soon. Hopefully DIY mate will take a look at it first.
A new lesson of don't ever have all new appliances with a new kitchen and utility room refit as they're likely to all starting dying at the same time. One of the oven door catches fell off too the other day, but managed to re-screw that back in. Can't afford to replace that as well as it's a big range thing.
At least lunch is cheap - part-baked bread rolls currently in the oven and smell fab with leftover turkey and the obligatory mayonnaise :rotfl:
Will catch up later on the financials - alreay picked up 13p with Qmee so that's started the pot off again, as I withdrew the 57p on Christmas Eve to do a TT to the savings pot.Back on the DFW Wagon:
