How to fall in love with saving money

Our BbQ is dying and will probably be replaced this year. They don't live long here in the cold and damp. Seems like 4-5 years is the max life span.
Luckily I have one in the barn we bought when we moved to Jersey for a year a couple of years back. Never put it together as the place had a charcoal one and this gas one bought at the end of summer for under 90 quid will do the trick.0 -
I tend to think of BBQs as a social thing to do and for that reason have never forked out for one but perhaps should get a small one as you're right, atush, it's a nice way to cook food and very good in the summer. I need to put a table in the garden so I can eat out there though.0

I'd have a BBQ if I had a garden
I'm on the first floor and our carpark is our garden. Boo!

JoJoC, a carpark doesn't sound like a very fun garden
I hope you'll have a place with a proper garden soon.

Husband went to lidl with a list this morning, he spent £10.10.
We watched the rugby and visited some relatives so instead of cooking we had an Indian at the local. It was really nice to be out. We both had poppadoms, both had starters and mains and a nan bread and drinks and it came to £22.
I think I have overdone the caffeine today, I can't sleep.0 -
I love Indian food, yum
Haven't tried our local, maybe I should. We've got a really good Italian restaurant nearby too (by reputation) which I haven't been to yet but which offers a really cheap set menu.
I wish I had a Lidl closer to me - I'd have to drive quite a distance to get to one unfortunately.0 -
Gorgeous day today! Alas, I've got to go to work0

Took my eldest (23 and moving out next month as he now has so much cash in the bank lol) and he bought a little bistro table and 2 chairs for his balcony. Cost was 69 total. He can use it inside i winter if he wants to. Might be room for a little BBQ out there too lol.
as for the carpark/garden, what about a disposible? You could go out witha few beers and cook a couple of steaks, no problem?0 -
We have done that in the last couple of years Atush! We're good friends with our neighbours downstairs so on the odd occasion we've had a disposable BBQ, some beers and a couple of camping chairs.
It works well, but just not the same as having a nice garden BBQ!
It'll happen one day though- this is one of the many reasons that I'm saving!CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Sorry you've got work on a Sunday
Lovely, but very hot for the long run - last of my 20-milers in 2 hours 45 minutes, so the end's in sight, but was a struggle towards the end in the heat even though I set out at 7:30 to avoid the worst of it. Marathon won't finish until about 1pm, so i'll be doing a rain dance in early April0
