You can't have spent that- your total for the month is only 42 odd?

Easy to spend extra to stock up but nothing like feeling smug when you need something and found you'd bogof-ed it last month. HATE spending 100% normal rate on that.

I only ever buy loo roll on special offer! I just hate spending ridiculous amounts of money on paper that you're going to use to...well you know... Seems like such a waste of money!!

My MIL swears by the loo roll in Farmfoods. It's two packs of 9rolls (so 18 total) for £4 and she says they're great. Might have to try them.

Amazing the range of subjects that get discussed on here :)

Anyway, hope everyone's out having an MSE Saturday. I'm mostly at home today - hoping for a quiet but productive day.

Being very MSE having a financial spring-clean, moved one ISA today and just pondering moving the other, then finally time to bite the bullet and open the long-awaited SIPP :D

Then time to fire up the BBQ and enjoy lunch in the sunshine

Thanks Lomcevak :) You have sunshine down your way? ... It's quite windy here, would not be venturing outdoors for a barbecue myself! Yesterday was beautiful. Good to hear you are sorting out your SIPP - which provider did you go with in the end, just out of interest? ... If you don't mind saying, that is?

Beautiful here today, sunshine and a light wind - really feels like spring has arrived. Last couple of days have been very foggy so nice to see the sun :)

Going to go with Fidelity unless the pensions board here on MSE come up with anything i've missed. I'm still reading and debating quite how i'm going to use the SIPP longer-term, but have to do something this tax year so can't debate too much longer. Fidelity looks a good start, and there are no exit fees if I change my mind in a year or two.

Sounds like you're having a productive day Lomcevak! BBQ sounds great too- I'm jealous that you've got nice enough weather for a lunch outside!

I'm looking online for some inspiration for next week's meal plan, while my son is asleep. So far, I've got sausage casserole and chicken and leek pie on the list.

We are doing burgers on the BBQ too- but I am american and will BBQ in any weather- even snow.

For us it is a cooking method, and not a party lol.

What a coincidence, only this morning I had a conversation with my MIL about the farmfoods loo roll!!

I could kill a burger right now. I love a good burger. The sun is out, shame I haven't even got a barbecue :)

I had a long conversation with my dad in Oz today, covering lots of different stuff but among other things I asked him whether he has any bonds - he said no, because the interest rates are crap and he said in terms of cushioning swings in equities that you don't really need to do that if you are able to just ride them out. We had quite a long conversation about investing and his approach actually, very interesting.
