Nice top up to your savings account Cathy! That must be a morale boost, even though you're poorly?

You're so close to the next milestone of £3,000!

I popped another £20 on today for luck to round up the total to an even number of £1550. That was my compromise as I wasn't sure whether to transfer all excess over it keep it in the account as a buffer.

    Are you still feeling rough?

hi JoJoC, very tired but think I'm past the worst of it now. Thanks for asking :) I'm really pleased about the savings ... I'm sure I can pass the £3,000 mark by the end of March. I actually prefer saving small amounts like £20 often than bigger amounts less frequently. It makes it feel like an achievement, watching it creep up. So well done on the £20, it all counts :)

I have to say, I am not happy with the symptoms of either you Cathy nor JojoC's mother have been experiencing.

It sound viral, not bacterial (so no antibiotics would help) and could need further treatment with antivirals, or immune therapies. Certainly a proper diagnosis. One of my twins had post viral syndrome and it blighted his health and growth from age 4 when contracted until he was around 14.

That plus possible scarlet fever in these threads is fairly alarming lol, and I am not one to get alarmed in general.

Thanks for your concern Atush- we too have been concerned at the symptoms she's been experiencing and the prolonged nature of them.

She was sent to a cough clinic at the hospital who said everything seems 'normal' on the couch front and a scan (X-ray?) to look at her lungs came back clear.

She went to the doctor again last week because she still was t feeling better and the doctor mentioned a heart murmer after a fairly thorough examination. She's now waiting on an appointment to have an ECG and a 24 hour heart monitor to see if it reveals anything.

Regarding the cough, she have up smoking at Christmas so she just assumes it's 30+ years of cigarettes working it's way out her body.

It's all very worrying, particularly because she lives alone and we're worried that something might happen to her and we wouldn't know. She's an otherwise fit and healthy 56 year old woman so fingers crossed they get to the bottom if it soon.

Cathy- I have every confidence you'll get to £3k in the next two weeks!

Thanks atush from me too ... I have a GP appointment tomorrow so will raise all of these issues there. :) Meanwhile back at work today ... very misty outside. I did manage to make some bread in the breadmaker while home ill so can take sandwiches to work (yep still thinking about saving money even though unwell, it must have become a habit :) )

At work, feeling much better though have nagging cough, but am abandoning my £10 per week grocery challenge for now because in the wake of being ill I really think I ought to make the attempt to look after myself properly (lots of fresh fruit/veg etc). So it will have to wait for another month.

Yes not the most practical idea in the circumstances :) Anyway I really am feeling better, so that at least is good. The sunny weather helps. :) Also the fact that I have two days off after today. Hope everyone else is having a good day :)
