They've both been quite a bit slower for the last week or two. You have to wait noticeably while they load the 'Enter memorable information' screen. The same delay applies throughout the site.

They've definitely made website changes, as previously neither of them was loading and placing the cursor in the 'User ID' field. Now Lloyds does, and Halifax doesn't.

It's interesting to see though that following my OP, some have said that they're not experiencing any issues at all. As I said originally, I've experienced very slow speeds since end of September (the TSB split time, or coincidence). With having so many bank accounts now between OH and myself (to benefit from the 3%/5% interest rates, rewards etc) and having to pass money around them all, it's getting to a proverbial pain in the a*se. Halifax, Lloyds Bank, BOS claim they know nothing about it, hmmm.

Been experiencing fluctuating broadband speed in recent weeks. Most noticable on secure sites.
  • Same here. Have noticed it over the past few weeks, Although, only on the Personal banking for me.

Has anyone found the BOS speed to be OK but Lloyds and Halifax slow? At the moment Lloyds and Halifax are painful to use for me but if I login via BOS, it seems fine.

This is odd because my BOS and Halifax logins are the same, showing the same accounts!

Also, didn't someone say they are all hosted on the same server? The only difference I can think of is the Halifax branded version seems to load more graphics with special offers, cashback etc. Perhaps these link to a different, slow server?
  • Mine into Lloyds seems fine no issue with speed at all.

Whether I log in at Lloyds, Halifax, BOS or TSB, the one thing that is slow with all of them is moving from one screen to another. You can watch the progress bar in the bottom right hand corner to convince yourself that the session is still alive, and I have to do this an awful lot.

It's not my Internet connection - I have lightening fast BT Infinity that normally delivers any fully functioning web page, including from bank sites, in fractions of seconds. Lloyds, Halifax, BOS and TSB have some peculiar approach to delivering their online banking in fits and throws. 2 out of 10 from me on the performance of their website, but since it's 10 out of 10 for interest on up to £5K three times over, I grudgingly put up with the website.

Lloyds has been slow for a couple of weeks now, however TSB seems pretty quick.
