Mitb is a type of trojan that can hijack your machine, to put it very simply, techies will probably accuse me of oversimplifying it..

What does Malwarebyte do that an Internet Security Suite doesn't, please? Again, sorry if this is a silly question, but I thought Internet Security Suites protected against spyware and Trojans.
  • I have malwarebytes and it has picked up things that my security suite hasn't in the past. It's free too.

Yes, your internet security suite should protect against malware (ie spyware, trojans, viruses & the like), but sometimes things can slip through. Malwarebytes is a programme which is used only on demand and provides a secondary check of your system. It's often pick up things an anti-virus won't.
  • I have accounts with both Halifax and Lloyds. I too did think that the responses were slightly slower since the switch taking account of the TSB separation. Not enough to complain about but noticeable. (I have accounts with others and none of those seem slower than they were before.)
  • Question to those experiencing slow speed, who is your ISP?

I have a Halifax account and its been ok.

My ISP is a Daisy communications reseller so access is through their network.
Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)

both Halifax and Lloyds are a bit slower (for me) than pre split...slightly slower to login and slower to complete a FP...not mega slow, just slower than before.

I think the word to sum it up is sluggish.

Question to those experiencing slow speed, who is your ISP?

    BT

I think pfpf's description of sluggish is an accurate description.

Pages don't load at the same speed as before as in no longer instantaneous, although the sending of faster payments seems to be the usual speed for me, as does setting up a new payee, when they call to confirm. Seemed to take an age this month just to arrange several credit card payments and several faster payments, just because the pages don't load as fast.

I don't believe that it's a PC issue for me as I only ever use my mac for banking. I never browse other sites (use a different device for that) and regularly update/full scan.

Yes, I've noticed this too, very frustrating to use. BT here as well.
